Hi Flickr universe! Have not had much time to post here lately since I have been preoccupied with my new website and blog that I wrote about earlier in the summer:
It is getting less time consuming after initial website creation and set up, so I hope to get more time to post more on Flickr too soon. I do love the blog part of it as it gives me a chance to post more images from some particular outing in one post vs one image here on Flickr.
I hope everyone's summer is going well and you are taking your cameras everywhere and taking new exciting images. I have been exploring photographing butterflies with different lenses to see the differences and similarities. Hoping to write about it soon and post some pictures. Turned out I had no images of butterflies taken with my Pentacon 50 lens!!! I had to run out and correct that asap. ;-)
For now, this self portrait from yesterday I took on my phone. :-)

"A statue removed from an Islington park more than 30 years ago has been officially reinstated. 'Upon Reflection' is a self-portrait of artist Kevin Atherton, first unveiled in the Philip Noel-Baker Peace Garden, in Elthorne Park, in 1985.
But the statue, which depicts the artist gazing at his reflection in a pond, was vandalised and eventually removed after less than two years. The plinth has remained empty since.
The sculpture was thought to be lost, until the council’s heritage team found it in the basement of Islington Town Hall last year." (source and date of article unknown😭possibly 'Islington Gazette')
Originally when the Statue was Installed was plain Silvery Bronze colour. It was painted Silver (as here) but the Date that it was Painted Gold was sometime in 2024 (to be updated)

Your 'Comments' do not always appear in 'Notifications' or Flickr mail, so, I am sorry for any delay in responding. Often your 'Comment' is only spotted 'On the Page' on the day, that I see it. (seen ONLY when replying to someone HAS 'Commented' on the image, and I see a notification)
One of the first self portraits I took after hand surgery (bandage on right hand) this past February. I was waiting in the car while my daughter was at orchestra. Really missed using my cameras during surgery recovery and was so thankful to be able to start photographing with something other than my phone.

The film broke and came completely out of the canister inside my camera. Guessing slight light exposure when removing the film from the camera in a mostly dark room resulted in the red spots on the lower part of the frame.

Roys Peak is a mountain in New Zealand, standing between Wanaka and Glendhu Bay. It offers 5-6 hours one-way, with views across Lake Wanaka and up to the peak of Mount Aspiring/Tititea. The track zigzags steeply up the side of Mount Roy, through thick grass until the ridge to the summit. It was not an easy track if you carry your camera, tripod...
