I think in my head this might have been more avant garde than it turned out. But, hey, none of the contestants were remotely avant garde either. I chose the 'seductive temptress' because I had a bit of silk velvet and a matching lining fabric in the perfect colours. I love the idea of glimpses of flesh being more seductive than putting it on display, so I designed a dress which covers up almost all of Barbie's body but gives tantalising glimpses of her between the layers of fabric. Her head covering adds a note of drama to show that she is no meek woman beneath her covering. I've given her a snake bangle to show off her inner temptress and seriously sexy shoes to tempt any man to guess what lies under her skirt.
The judges are a bit worried that I've made a burkha but they like the clever use of different textures and stitching techniques. I'm through to the final!
