… among the thorns.

This was taken last month on a visit to a garden that was opened to the public for charity at Cadenham Manor in Wiltshire.

Just another simple rose then, but it was pretty thorny as far as processing the image went. Everything seemed a struggle: sharpness, aspect ratio, orientation, colour gradients, noise, tonal balance, and an unhelpful background. So much for a 20-minute edit then.

I must have tried a dozen different crops, and flipped it horizontally back and forth (this is the original orientation for all that). Eventually, I gave up and here we are.
