No bad weather for a brave security officer. A candid street photo of an old man on a bicycle in the park on a rainy and snowy day of the late autumn season. The brave man wears the cap with a "Security" inscription on it. Weather or no weather, he is on duty patrolling the park. Black and white version.
These are not Washington Metropolitan Police, these are private security officers standing guard outside the International Monetary Fund's headquarters in Washington, D.C. They stood silently at the edge of the sidewalk and a squad of police officers parked not far away stayed within line of sight, but came no closer.
The demonstration was peaceful and small, but vigorous -- and audible from some distance.

So all I really did was paint her helmet a little, added some side detail on her legs, and improved her chest armor to look more accurate. I didn't want to edit too much.
As you can tell from the look on this Mexico Customs Officials face, she made it very difficult for me to leave Cozumel. She gave me the evil eye when I disembarked the ship and cleared the security gates on the pier. As I passed her, I smiled and winked at her thinking that was the friendly thing to do. Little did I know!
When I returned a few hours later, to re-board the ship, she was waiting for me with the same evil eye. No smile in sight! She pulled me off to the side and politely asked me wait in a shaded area with no explanation. She then proceeded to clear a number of other people to go back aboard ship while making me wait. When there was a break she came over to me and asked to look in my shopping bag as if I had done something wrong or was trying to smuggle something on board. She knew exactly what she was doing! Of course all I had in the bag was a hat that says Cozumel on it, but that was enough.
Much to my relief, she then smiled and winked back at me and asked me to take my hat off. At this point I was still a little unnerved but wasn't about to let it show. She then took my hat with Aruba on it and put it inside the bag. I smiled and said, but I'll get my bald head burned without my hat on. She then pulled the hat out of the bag that has Cozumel on it, and said, you have to have this hat on before I will allow you to leave me.
I smiled and winked at her again and she returned the pleasantry. I told her if she would let me board the ship, I would take her picture and show her to the world. She told me she would rather have me stay but if I must go, she would love to have me take her photo. So here she is, the Customs Officer of the Year for all of Cozumel.
Here's to you my dear woman - and what a lovely lady you are!
The only thing to view LARGE or ORIGINAL is the twinkle in her eyes - and believe me - it's well worth it....

at the munich subway station marienplatz during oktoberfest, a security officer stands vigilant. the black and white scene captures the busy atmosphere, the contrast between the moving train and the stationary passengers, and the focused presence of additional security during the city's bustling festivities.
Biking through the day, makes the pain go away; We fight the heart decay, and hope we can get through May; August will be here soon, just keep your mind in tune, and wait for the one that got away.

A Kennedy Space Center Security Police Dodge Durango slicktop at the main entrance to KSC in Titusville, Florida. The KSC Security force is a federal law enforcement agency protecting the Space Center and NASA property surrounding it. The department consists of both federal law enforcement officers and security officers who protect the KSC property.
