This black-and-white photograph captures an ancient stone engraving of the Eye of Providence within a radiant triangle. Common in Christian iconography, the symbol represents divine omniscience and the Holy Trinity. The weathered surface and cracked masonry evoke a sense of time’s passage, while the surrounding shadows enhance the solemn, almost sacred atmosphere. Found in the old cemetery beside Oberhofenkirche in Goeppingen, this emblem serves as a reminder of faith, vigilance, and the eternal watchfulness of the divine.

it never occurred to me when i took the photo, but buddha's ghost thinks this might be a hangout for freemasons (see comments in previous post). i suppose it's possible, but it seems like a poor sister for their usual meeting halls.
A Freemason is a man who, in searching for life’s ineffable questions, finds his way into the company of fellow seekers. Comprised of men from every nation, races, social and economic level, all hold similar ideals and beliefs. The uniting idea is a faith in the divine founded in the certitude in an afterlife. This “belief” is grounded by certain landmark tenants and virtues which ultimately lead in exploration of those invisible questions, leading ultimately to the betterment of all mankind.

I've been a Freemason for a little over 2 years and have enjoyed the friendships with the people I've met and the hard work we have done to improve the community (helping children being the foremost push). It is a wonderful fraternity and I recommend it to every man, regardless of race, religion or social economic level.

How do I get this onto my iPhone?
There are a number of ways to do this, however I think the easiest and fastest way is to download Flickr’s free app. Within the Flickr app you surf over to my photo feed to view the images (if you make me a contact then I’ll appear in the flickr contact list). When you find one you like, just click the download button and save the image directly to your phone. Quick & Simple!
I don’t have an iPhone. Can I still use it on my phone?
As of this writing this image (960 x 640) should be large enough to be used as wallpaper with the Droid / Android, BlackBerry, Windows 7, and iPhone.

The rusty cast iron pediment above the front door of Place de La Baume came from an 1800s secret society in Austin Texas. It weighs approximately 200 pounds and I had to reinforce the brick wall to support it's weight.

The Barber-Surgeons' Hall in Monkwell Square. The Worshipful Company (livery company or guild) of Barber-Surgeons is half a millennium old, having received their royal charter from Henry VIII... Why barbers performed surgery and where were the doctors back then is a whole other book (or multi-tome story).
