Sunnmore, my very first full sim build of my own, was inspired by the first life region which is located in Southern Norway. It is a place of unparalleled beauty where the northern lights soar across the sky - a place where the mountains and fjords meet the ocean. It is also the land of Friluftsliv.
Friluftsliv, loosely translated, means "open air life" or "free air life" and is a concept embraced by the country of Norway. Friluftsliv is described as meaning "the simple life" - a way of life that embraces nature and offers the possibility of rejuvenation and restoring balance among living things. It is about living in harmony with nature and returning to our true home. It is what inspired me and lived within me throughout this entire build.
I hope you enjoy this little slice of Norwegian heaven and are able to relax, unwind and be one with nature.

Slovenia proposed May 20th be official World Bee Day in light of what is happening to the bees. It’s celebrated to draw attention to the importance of bees and other pollinators.
The day focuses on promoting actions by individuals, society, organizations, and governments for improving the diversity and abundance of their habitats—all while showing support for beekeeping.
The date chosen was the birthday of Anton Jansa, a modern apiculture pioneer from Slovenia.

The Dancing Rabbit was created by Cynthia (or Cyn as she was known to her friends) Deere, who was a very dear (pun totally intended) friend of mine. When I last moved my bee & pollinator reserve, What the Buzz, Cyn moved The Dancing Rabbit next to it. We tended to build next to each other a lot because we just kind of "fit" like that. So Cyn moved The Dancing Rabbit and I landscaped it for her, not knowing it would be one of our last projects together. Cyn passed away unexpectedly on March 10th of 2023. Those who knew her, knew what a kind and caring person she was and how much she enjoyed creating spaces for others to enjoy here in SL.
With the support of Cyn's RL family, I was able to acquire The Dancing Rabbit for the purpose of preserving it - in memory of her and for all those who enjoy her creations. I hope you will spend time here, among the greenery and the wildlife and share this place with your friends and loved ones. Nothing would make Cyn happier than knowing that we are all still enjoying her spaces and feeding her beloved rabbits for her while raising a cup of coffee in her name.

DID YOU KNOW that bees pollinate 75% of vegetables, fruits, and nuts in the United States including such crops as apples, cranberries, melons, almonds, and broccoli? Fruits like blueberries and cherries are 90% dependent on honeybee pollination, and during bloom time almonds depend entirely on honeybees for pollination. These busy little workers are the main reason we have the produce we see in our stores or farmer’s markets. The more flowers that bees have to pollinate, the more veggies our gardens will see come harvest time.
Here's something else you might not know. The same pesticides that we might use to help keep away unwanted pests from our gardens can also impact honeybees and other pollinators as well. Honeybees and other native bees can ingest these harmful pesticides while foraging in the fields. While some honeybees will die before they are able to return to the hive and infect the Queen and other bees, some contaminated bees will bring the pesticides back to the hive and entire colonies can be wiped out.

Rain has long thought to have healing powers - a gift from above that cleanses and renews. Rain doesn't just refresh the land, but also our spirits. It is a symbol of hope and a reminder that with a little TLC, even the harshest of environments can come alive again.
In addition to other spiritual benefits of rain, many metaphysical scholars and healers believe it has physical benefits as well. It is said that the feeling of rain on ones skin can raise your energy vibration which can help open up your Chakras and allow healing energy to flow through your body.
Since we are not able to feel the benefits of rain on our skins in a virtual world, I tried to create the next best thing - An immersive sound environment complete with guided meditations, Tibetan singing bowls and of course, the soothing sounds of rain and thunder. I hope you enjoy it.
