The city of Reservoir Dogs had spent years breathing smoke, rust, and dying electricity. Old billboards still flickered above empty streets, while something not entirely human moved between shattered buildings and flooded tunnels.
Richard arrived at dusk alongside the few companions still willing to take impossible jobs. Beneath his worn jacket, his mechanical prosthetics creaked softly with every step, as if they too were tired of surviving.
No one talked much anymore.
Not in places like this.
The mission was simple: clean the area.
Eliminate the hostile invasive species before the nest beneath the city kept spreading.
But as they crossed the ash-covered avenues, Richard realized something unsettling: the creatures hadn’t turned Reservoir Dogs into a ruin.
They had simply learned to survive in it better than humans ever did.
Even so, he loaded his weapon, glanced at the dying lights on the horizon, and allowed himself the faintest smile.
—Well… someone’s gotta keep the worst cities in the world company.
And then, the shadows began to move.
