Macro Monday - Sweet or Savoury
I seldom eat chips, but these are pretty good. It is a blend of yuca, sweet potato, parsnip, taro, and batata.
These chips are made with real vegetables, gluten-free, vegan, non-GMOr. 0mg of cholesterol and 0g of trans fat and no artificial flavors or artificial preservatives.
I know, too good to be true :)
Macro Mondays - Condiments
Happy Macro Mondays everyone.
Here we have some peppercorns, sea salt, garlic, rosemary and bay leaves.

Red alaea salt, also known as Hawaiian red salt, is an unrefined sea salt that has been mixed with alaea, an iron-oxide-rich volcanic clay that gives the salt its characteristic colour.

Captured in the salinas of the Olhão-part of the Ria Formosa. These small ponds are not very common. Due to the Halobacterium salinarum a salt loving bacteria - typical for salt pans - the ponds can turn red.
The harvesting method is the same as with the large ones: after the water has evaporated, the crystalized salt is collected by means of long-handled rakes or scrapers and shoveled into bags. After that the bags are placed in the crates on display here for processing and distribution.

Medium sea salt at 2.5x magnification, lit from one side by red and green flash heads right next to each other. Scene around half of and inch across before cropping. 47 images in the stack as I recall. Funny lined reflections are tin foil. HMM

This week the Snap Happy Group challenge was 'Anything at all...as long as it is small'. The theme was chosen by Jesse and this is my contribution to the group before the group rules will change, a bowl of oven fried chips and no I did not make them.
A staple for me is sea salt, Herbs de Provence and cumin. Not all at once, but those are my favorite spices when cooking. I also never knew spices were considered condiments. HMM everyone!
Another 25 minutes to perfection,
Stuffed pork tenderloin wrapped in caul fat on top of bed of onions, the rendering of the caul fat with the sweetness of the onion will deglaze the pan for later when it is served,
