... snapshot from my short trip to Chicago.

I couldn't have any cameras with me except for the telephone ...

I call it photoshoot out of necessity ... no choice :)

It will always be the Sears Tower!!

My art is now available at ArtfullyGiving.com and 25% of your purchase is donated to nonprofits.

Stitched Panorama many thanks to lexnagle

A white-labeled camera made for the Sears Roebuck Company in the 1980's by the Ricoh Company. Basically, a rebranded Ricoh KR-10 with minor modifications. This camera features a very reliable Copal square metal shutter which just lasts and lasts. A few current button batteries and it fires up and works well. That is, it has worked well after I shook the bits of gravel out of the shutter! This camera has a PK mount and is wearing an Sears multicoated 28mm f2.8 prime lens. A pretty good lens for macro/closeups.

Photo taken with Pentax K-70 digital camera.

NIRC 3 shoves two private coaches across the Chicago River drawbridge with the tower formerly known as Sears dominating the background. This bridge has traditionally been much busier and used to see everything from PRB coal trains heading from the BNSF to CN to Amtrak's City of New Orleans as part of its trip out of Union Station. Today, it's quite a bit harder to see trains here outside of the scheduled Amtrak trains that use the Air Line.

The Sears Tower as seen on Franklin Street, October 2022.

Note: in the original shot there is another building leaning into the right edge of the frame. I removed that using Photoshop to focus only on Sears.

The Sears Tower and company as seen from 1 N. Franklin.

Former Sears Department Store located at 4000 North Shepherd Dr. in Houston,TX. The building has been sitting vacant since Sears closed the store on August 30th 2020.

Note the store which opened in August 1950 featured a unique, streamlined shelter stop topped with a large SEARS logo outlined in neon. Note when I took these photos the store had been closed for over two years, however the bus shelter with it's Sears sign was still intact.

Okay, it's technically named something else now, but it was the Sears Tower when I took this picture in 1989. Taken from an Amtrak train on a trek across the country.

This old gorgeous photographic landmark in Hackensack New Jersey. Sears Roebuck and Co.

Located along the Gila River east of Yuma, Arizona, Sears Point is a massive rock art site containing over 10,000 glyphs. Other features at the site include sleeping circles, geoglyphs, trails, rock alignments, and a historic canal.

Sears is closed. My morning hair makes me look a bit crazed. That's OK.

The Sears head office, an inverted Pyramid, designed in the brutalist style by architect Max Miller in Toronto

"runs good!" and still in use.

Class mates 20142 & 20007 are seen on the Chiltern Mainline approaching milepost 9 and a quarter near Sear Green & Jordans on 5th of April 2021, working the 09:53 5Q20 from Eastleigh Altsom to West Ruislip London Underground Depot, seen with London Underground 4TC set and inspection saloon Fiona.

Thanks to JS for location.

Real timing reporting for you, Sears is still closed.

This is the last day of my Kmart/Sears bag collection.

Sears Point is a pretty extensive site located along the Gila River east of Yuma, Arizona.

Welcome to the Sears Neighborhood! A beautiful tree lined street where children play and life is good. The year is 1928.

Sears (closed) | 7875 Johnnycake Ridge Rd, Mentor, OH

8 days since the last visit, some considerable progress has been made. The entire interior has been gutted. Awnings, doors, and windows removed, and the garden center area has been demolished for the most part. I'll be back occasionally to take update photos.
