Captured this at half-time of a San Diego State University game. Not sure who it is, just like the picture.

This was done right after I'd cleaned up the mess from crashing my Dopero on the other side of the Love Library. I was standing right about where I was for this photo, the Dopero overpowered, inverted, and dove straight at the ground. No amount of line handling got it to straighten up. Rather than risk hitting anyone, toward the end I reeled in rather than out, hoping to land it on the roof or at least partway down the far wall.
I lucked out BIG TIME. The line completely crossed the library, and the kite was dangling half way down the far wall. No ground impact. As luck would have it it flipped upright when it came down, and was positioned perfectly for a rescue attempt. I hauled HARD on the line, and managed to re-launch the kite. Off the side of a library. Yeah...
My hat is off to everyone at SDSU for putting up with me. Lots of smiles, lots of encouragement, and lots of cheering when my big red Dopero, Porco Rosso, took to the skies once more.
Afterward I landed it and switched to my 6' rokkaku. It had a harder time with the lulls, but it weathered the gusts well enough to let me do some KAP.
99 kite / 1 camera. Not my best day ever. Time for a thorough line and kite inspection.
