Two of Western SMT's 1974 Leyland Leopards SCS 340M and SCS 345M are seen parked up at the rear of Western's Kilmarnock Depot in 1984. Both appeared to be withdrawn and soon joined the fleet of Alexander (Northern).

Argyll of Wemyss Bay were very much part of the deregulation bus scene in the Inverlyde area and in 1990 acquired several former Western SMT Leyland Leopards for their operations.
SCS 345M came from Vanguard, Bedworth and is seen on a wet day in Ashton heading along the seafront from McInroy's Point into Gourock. It lasted with Argyll until late 90/91.
