The purpose of this project was to create a series or narrative with print. I invented an author and created a series of novels that traces the development of his life and career.
I couldn't get a good true picture of how the colors have a subtle shine, but this is close enough so you can see the clouds in the skin are shinier...
I switched up inks this time round-- I don't really love Speedball because it looks too flat it seems. So I went back to my old fave, Lyntex medium + pigments-- which gives me a nice sheen the more I layer on, but also seems to have some more problems in this climate. (It really sucks. I miss CT!) And it's a little more tacky than SB so I have to be careful when drying. At least for now I'll swap between them.

This is a print that I did via screenprint. Initially it was a drawing I did live out in nature. I found a hobo hut that someone built out by Franklin High School before it was a stripmall. I drew that then later copied the images and blew them up then cut them and rearranged them to make this. I really like the fact that it was an actually den someone made by hand.

The poster was part of an exhibition called “Orchester 3.0″ which took place at the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg. This antique music hall is the most famous in the city and one of the best in germany. In April 2012 they presented a row of concerts by three different orchestras. To promote these concerts they also asked a bunch of local artist to create art pieces that deal with the context of the performed music. Each of the poster deals with a different masterpiece of classical music.
Heshta & family very kindly put up with me for a couple of evenings while I screenprinted these t-shirts, front and back on her Yudu.
So. Worth. The. Effort.
A sigh of relief is felt as the screen burns beautifully using 230 mesh, (higher-resolution than the 200 mesh of the first two layers, which shared a screen). I darkened up the green a bit after the first few prints because I didn't feel it offered enough contrast to the blue and yellow.

This canvas tote bag is 15" tall by 12.5" wide and 6.5" deep! It holds more than most of us want to spend! It has a two color hand print on the front and a Mixed Species logo discretely (yes we can be discrete) tucked inside!

With screenprinted dandelions and a puffball skirt - slightly before the puffball craze though, and I didn't know how to make it properly!
