258/366: 2016

I was making some new home cards today and using little metal keys. This sowed the seed for todays photo...enter more craft supplies, including some my much loved lace, and a heart all placed on some rather pretty scrapbook paper...I now have a scrapbook layout ready, as well as my photo of the day, I'll remove the key and add a photo or two and it's done...two for the price of one!

I have decided I will be doing more photos using lace so it now has it's own album:

31/52: Project 52 - Something nostalgic, looking backwards in time

I was looking through some old photos a few weeks ago and kept this one out. It's of me, my husband and our eldest son when he was two and a half years old (so a year or two ago!) When I was trying to find something for the nostalgia theme I found it again. Rather than just take a photo of an old photo I decided to set it up as if I were doing a scrapbook layout...with some of my vintage lace and buttons. I thought it would feel more nostalgic with a faded, vintage edit.

The other photos in my lace collection can be found here:

I'm still trying to catch up with challenges...and with commenting.

Layout of me and Sara at the Local Natives concert

Here it is! The last LOAD layout of the month. I've learned a lot, scrapped a lot, but know there is so much more to learn and scrap. Thanks to all of you who viewed my layouts and left comments. I appreciate all of your kind words. It's been a hectic week and I'll be taking time to look at all the layouts I've missed...so you haven't seen the last of me! Take care! Happy Halloween!

(And just wondering...what's my overall style this month? I would love to hear your point of view. Thanks!)

LOAD514 Day 6: Misheard Lyrics - Skipped the prompt. As I searched for any relatable photos, I ended up organizing photos and felt like scrapbooking these two today. Another 6x6 pocket page :)

I have never put so many photos onto one scrapbook layout and it just so happened that I created this photo collage for my blog post today. I printed it and then scrapped away.

Here's a close-up shot of my little sweetie blowing a bubble. This photo had been stored away in a photo album and I'm glad I had a chance to use it today.

Doodles are made from clippings from a small book I found at the local Starbucks.

I loved this project and with the cameo it was so fast to make the boxes and drawers which meant more time to decorate them!!

My first Scrap Happy Reunion. Had a blast and planning on the next one. Used Simple Scrapper template #491 and Live Love Laugh kit from Gingerscraps and O Canada minikit from Pixelscrapper.

I couldn't do a page for Ben and not do one for my son Andy.

Another totally digital layout using a scanned Webster's pages paper, some HA digikits and WordArt.

I tend to take a lot of photos from my Blackberry and then I'll send them to my email for safe keeping. All of these photos (except the bottom right) were in my inbox so I downloaded them today and created a collage in Picasa. (I've been having fun experimenting with photo editing during LOAD this time around.) If it wasn't for today's challenge, these photos would still be in my inbox.

Decided to do a little work organizing my layouts + albums in between laundry + pushing juice + fixing soup for the boys.

This is a Scrapbook Page I made with a Page Kit I purchased at Hobby Lobby. It was made by tearing the sides and distressing the edges (including the torn part) of the paper. The background was stenciled on with modeling paste and then sprayed with Tim Holtz Distress Sprays. The picture sits upon a bundle of layered papers and tags. Then I added the word stickers, Capture and Dream Big.

The paper I used for the background is the NEW line called Lilou from Rouge de Garance! :)

Papers : Rouge de Garance - American Crafts

Printed elements : digital kits by Jennifer Pebbles

Alphabets : American Crafts

Chipboard tags : Scenic Route

These are great for embellishing all your crafts whether they are scrapbook layouts, cards, book/journal covers, hair bow centers, hair bands, altered art and more. Please check my profile for shop link.

LOAD514 Day 19: When I Grow Up - The photos are from when I chopped my hair and donated it to Locks of Love for the 3rd time, but I rambled on in the journaling about how I once wanted to become a hair stylist to a variety of other occupations. I also wrote about how my youngest wants to own a beauty salon when she grows up.

2st birthday layout. paper pieced cupcake (that I drew). I also drew the blue frame. The teal hearts are covered with wrappers from lindt chocolates!

The companion page to the ceremony. Still using Pine Creek kit from @KatiePertiet

Scrapbook Page, "Mesmerized!"

LOAD15 "Our Sweet Girl" Pet Memorial Scrapbook Layout - You can scrapbook the same photo more than once. The top square print was featured at last year's May LOAD on a scrapbook layout talking about new flooring & kitchen updates - www.flickr.com/photos/daniellehunter/8704673775/in/set-72...

Supplies: cardstock (Basic Grey, Wausau), stickers (Jillibean Soup, October Afternoon, Bella Blvd., BasicGrey), and I even pulled out the acrylic paint for some black splatters! I love this page and it was pinspired by this one: www.pinterest.com/pin/106819822384932319/ (I even had a couple of the same stickers!)

A layout I created from my new paper line. I used the Storybook Line: Brownie Tickets no. 162 in my scrapbook paper catalog.

I aged the layouts w/Distress Inks from Ranger, handmade and distressed crepe paper flowers, millinery pearls/stamens, etc.

I created a 3-D bird cage using chip board which I painted and aged.

Then I used my hand molded clay bird embellishments available in my line painted or un-finished. I used bird cutouts and added my dollies w/wings to enhance the page and show variety.

The image is available on the Flapper Collage CD.

Finally I added extra detail through glitter, velvet flocking, pink moss, ribbons, chipboard, pan pastel chalks, modge podge, zip dry, prima flowers, K& Co cutouts, etc.

Kits of this layout are available!

LOAD10 "Love: Pure and Simple" Pet Memorial Scrapbook Layout - No color (2nd layout today). Today was a hard one. The prompt didn't do it for me, it was looking at that sweet photo of Tabatha and writing the journaling. It's been pretty easy so far, scrapbooking the fun pics, but the hard layouts are on their way :( Supplies: cardstock (black, Wausau), stamps (CTMH, Stampology, Stampin' Up), StazOn ink.
