258/366: 2016

I was making some new home cards today and using little metal keys. This sowed the seed for todays photo...enter more craft supplies, including some my much loved lace, and a heart all placed on some rather pretty scrapbook paper...I now have a scrapbook layout ready, as well as my photo of the day, I'll remove the key and add a photo or two and it's done...two for the price of one!

31/52: Project 52 - Something nostalgic, looking backwards in time

I was looking through some old photos a few weeks ago and kept this one out. It's of me, my husband and our eldest son when he was two and a half years old (so a year or two ago!) When I was trying to find something for the nostalgia theme I found it again. Rather than just take a photo of an old photo I decided to set it up as if I were doing a scrapbook layout...with some of my vintage lace and buttons. I thought it would feel more nostalgic with a faded, vintage edit.

LOAD514 Day 6: Misheard Lyrics - Skipped the prompt. As I searched for any relatable photos, I ended up organizing photos and felt like scrapbooking these two today. Another 6x6 pocket page :)

We received two cards from Tabatha's vets after her passing and this one was just perfect for the final page in her scrapbook. Doodles are made from clippings from a small book I found at the local Starbucks.

I loved this project and with the cameo it was so fast to make the boxes and drawers which meant more time to decorate them!!

28 Days of Layouts, created for LOAD211 Day 28. An idea popped into my head this month about creating a layout like a newspaper page; I rediscovered it last night when I was thinking about a new way to display all the pages I made during LOAD211. I created the photo collage in Picasa and since I don't have Quark or PageMaker on my computer, I used WordPerfect (yay! it works again after the crash!) I made the title as word art, wrote the date in a text box, inserted the photo collage, printed and journaled in my own handwriting.

This month went by fast! I completed each challenge and now have 28 new layouts in scrapbooks.

I want to say thanks to everyone that viewed my layouts and left wonderful comments. You are all filled with creative talent and I look forward to scrappin' with you again in May.

I tend to take a lot of photos from my Blackberry and then I'll send them to my email for safe keeping. All of these photos (except the bottom right) were in my inbox so I downloaded them today and created a collage in Picasa. (I've been having fun experimenting with photo editing during LOAD this time around.) If it wasn't for today's challenge, these photos would still be in my inbox.

This is a Scrapbook Page I made with a Page Kit I purchased at Hobby Lobby. It was made by tearing the sides and distressing the edges (including the torn part) of the paper. The background was stenciled on with modeling paste and then sprayed with Tim Holtz Distress Sprays. The picture sits upon a bundle of layered papers and tags. Then I added the word stickers, Capture and Dream Big.

2st birthday layout. paper pieced cupcake (that I drew). I also drew the blue frame. The teal hearts are covered with wrappers from lindt chocolates!

This layout is one page in an Anniversary scrapbook shown to guests at a 20th Anniversary Party. It depicts a dancing couple at the wedding, along with the word "dance", a journaling block and hand made embellishments.

LOAD10 "Love: Pure and Simple" Pet Memorial Scrapbook Layout - No color (2nd layout today). Today was a hard one. The prompt didn't do it for me, it was looking at that sweet photo of Tabatha and writing the journaling. It's been pretty easy so far, scrapbooking the fun pics, but the hard layouts are on their way :( Supplies: cardstock (black, Wausau), stamps (CTMH, Stampology, Stampin' Up), StazOn ink. LOAD22 "Tabatha & Princess 12.31.2013" Pet Memorial Scrapbook Layout. Photos were taken on New Year's Eve and I was documenting the way Princess and Tabatha would cuddle up together, but the story is about how these photos were the last happy ones of Tabby since she passed away the very next day. this is a sweet picture of the boys when brandon was 2 yrs 4 months and bryan was just 2 weeks old.............they were just starting to feel each other out & get to know one another. BOY, time had changed----all the do now is wrestle & fight!!

BTW, this was the most interrupted project thus far from the boys. i had a request every 10 minutes to get this or that OR they were wondering what i was doing or where i was.

LOAD514 Day 23: Playground - Here are the girls at play in our backyard. The prompt reminded me of what my friends used to call my parent's backyard: "Mr. Miyagi's Backyard" since so much work was put into making it a backyard oasis - definitely something I want to scrapbook about in the future, just need to hunt down photos.

LOAD12 "Road Trip" Pet Scrapbook Layout - Make your own embellishment. I made the map flowers a few years ago (when I attempted an Etsy shop) and have been waiting to use them. A layout about car rides was perfect. I also made the other circle embellishments and used my last two giant brads. The butterfly and heart were made by my 5 year old a few months back.
