When an old, faded picture drops out of a family scrapbook, don't you wonder about it? Who lived there? Why was it important to someone? Where, exactly, was the photo taken? When?
happy NSD!!!
for a challenge on SIStv, I chose the part of my profile about my love for vintage papers. I just grabbed whatever I could find on my desk this afternoon, love that about scrapbooking!!
So, I did a whole big bunch of scrapbooking over the weekend, (which was a wonderful way to relax!) and I wanted to use products from the store, on each page I did. For this one, I started with the blk/wht buttons, bakers twine, pink tickets and the journaling spots, and then added in lots of little pieces including the fabulous snowflake from a Canadian friend! :)
Assembling everything good or bad prior to mapping out the forthcoming new Erskine Design website. Hoping to relaunch in the next month or so.
I've gone digital..... almost!
I got to play with the Feather Accents and the Olivia Digi Kit from Kitschy Digitals..... I'm so in love!! Who knew digital scrapbooking could be so fun!! I just printed the feathers, leaves and flowers onto cardstock and then cut each of them out for this page.
The black on the page is a combination of lace I spray painted over to add a lace pattern (without the actual lace) and a whole bunch of rub-ons. I layered all of the digital papers, and then real feathers and some light blue pearls.
**I made this whole page this morning, while Chase napped!! Hooray for hour long naps!!!** :))
I've just signed up for digital scrapbooking class. This is my first attempt at lesson 1. I stuck to the basics here but will experiment and personalize it a little more. What fun!

These are my IKEA EXPEDIT shelves. Again, I keep everything out in the open. Because I still haven't completely finished unpacking, there are holes, but it will be plenty full soon! LOL! On the top I have my collection of childrens lit. and some fun little things here and there that just make me happy. I love having all of that COLOR popping out at me!

Mom's Scrapbook. I finally took a good look at this old scrap book of my mother's. Figure this was done around 1924 -/+.
I did these four (autumn leaves, halloween and painting pumpkins) pages sunday night after everyone went to bed and i tried out a handful of new things that i'd seen on a couple of scrapbooking groups.
The new thing here is the leafy corner. I took a 12 x 12 sheet I had and used my matboard knife to cut an outline. THen i layered it on top of the pictures. I really love the effect
Commit2Paper - October Kit items: the letters, the little red leaves and the Bright corners and one felt leaf (coming off of Autumn)
I think i should have skipped the corners, but i was trying to come up with something that would let the letters stand out better and nothing else i had worked right.
I need to get simpler ideas for pictures. This one picture took me days to set up because I had to put together the table & chairs, & make the scrapbook (which no one but me can see). I think I'm just going to stand my dolls in front of a blank wall from now on LOL
A and I have a little routine that's just for the 2 of us, and I wanted to make sure I wrote it down, and thought it deserved it's own page in her scrapbook. I finished this last night too, while she played next to me with her pink play-doh and helped pick out the buttons for the page.
this came out of ISBN 1-893352-11-0. I really love pockets on paper.

My first scrapbooking tutorial is up...I was so nervous...

This is a strange interlude from my current series. Now, I am no scrapbooking expert, I have never entertained the thought of it as a hobby, but there are definitely some very cool embellishments and accessories on the market, that could turn me on to the idea. I can totally see how it could become quite addictive. I had to try out one of my credit cards the other week (I had issues with it when I was away on my recent trip), having sorted it out with the bank, I wanted to make sure that it was working and needed to order something inexpensive online....Hence I bought a couple of packs of scrapbooking buttons and assortment of mini cards, tickets, tags pics etc....I thought they would make good photo props...and they did!

I caught this scene at the exhibition of Shinro Otake in National museum of modern arts Tokyo. This works(right side) are scrapbooks which made from trash. He is making such scrapbooks day by day.
