… Summer of 1942, RAF Kenley – AE-A, a Spitfire Vb from 402 Squadron, RCAF, is ready to take off on its next Rodeo sortie across the Channel.
This is a shot of the actual EP120 airframe, veteran of countless WW2 missions and even movie epics, repainted in its 1942 livery when serving with a Canadian fighter squadron, the 402nd ‘City of Winnipeg’.
This image is from one of the better hikes in Petrified Forest National Park called Blue Mesa Trail. I would love to offer up some death-defying horror story of how I scrambled to a cliff edge and almost died for this image, but it would be malarkey (forgive the foul language). This is actually taken from a very safe and comfortable overlook with railings and everything. I know, where is the fun in that? So, yes, this composition is popular, Still, it is popular for a reason, and now I have my own version of this iconic scene. I actually had this same image with people down there too, but this seemed to much more true to the place. I feel like this landscape seems so alien, so inhospitable, that it is far better suited to be alone. I am sure many will argue it is indeed teaming with life, but it sure does not feel that way. So here you go. Alone. The only friend this strange place has is color.
Does anyone else like scrambling through driftwood to see what they can find? Enroute to Tomahawk Island in the distance.

The Bisti Badlands in New Mexico hold an array of discoveries for someone willing to hike and explore.
The Egg Field is no secret and can easily be found @ 1.5 miles from the gate at the parking lot. Simply start walking and stay to your right and you'll find the Eggs.

Gosh, it feels like forever since I last posted.
I am done with Toronto, and it feels good. It's fortunate that I had the opportunity to come home and regroup after the ordeal that was thesis. I learned much about myself. For example, my vast capacity to go sleep-free!
This is my last day in Montreal. Tomorrow morn, I leave for NYC! I miss your streams... It would be delightful if Amtrak had onboard wireless, but I don't believe they do.
Can you believe I am still scrambling to book housing and such? Silly, silly me.
