Fly tipping is a scourge in our Country. People who cant be bothered to arrange a collection by their local council, or builders, plumbers etc who tip their waste on the roadside, mainly at night like sneaky cowards. Shame on them all.

Apparently there are four species of pusleys in Florida, and none listed in any of my six flower field guides. My information about them comes from internet postings by the U of Florida and by companies interested in killing pusleys.
Pusleys evidently are a scourge in gardens and lawns, quickly spreading, and considered weeds.
Although the flowers are small, this species is named Large Flower Pusley (the other pusley species have tiny flowers). When blooming en masse in Florida late winter/early spring, they are called Florida Snowweed, because they may carpet a lawn or field and resemble snow.

He died on 4 September 1160 or 1165.

This is a frontline project mural, that I came across in a back street known as Spencer Yard and the mural tells the story of the Covid-19 pandemic in the words of Frontline Workers from Leamington Spa.
Which is a part of the BRINK organisation, that specialising in large scale murals and street art. Its aim is to raise awareness of Contemporary Art with a focus on Graffiti Art and Street Art, making them more accessible to the public.
There certainly are some cool talented Street Artists around these days, wherever you go!
And let's hope we all escape from this scourge of this pandemic for once and all soon.

This is somewhat inspired by my own dear RL kitties, Emma & Rosie...We have this friendly and beautiful gray male kitty that
likes to visit everyone in the neighborhood, and on several occasions, he's stopped at our house and poked his head at the window just to say hi. Well, my sweet, sedate Rosie makes such a racket when he does this that she sounds like she's being murdered or worse - she goes totally ballistic!
Emma, the more aggressive of the two, just bats her paws repeatedly at the window and hisses and spits with ears all flattened out on her head. I have to say, it's pretty funny to see them in action like this, and while I'm laughing (inside myself) at their intense displays of territorialism, I'm trying to calm them down while also attempting to gently chat with Mister Sweet Visiting Cat, and reassuring them that he just wants to be friends. We'll see how things progress as time goes on, assuming he still wants
to visit my unwelcoming little screaming banshees again...

We are fragile, everyone. We all long for something more. But things are said and things are done and then the pieces hit the floor.
Like the Christmas sprite that has gone out, in my Birmingham City Center this year... with no German Markets to brighten and lighten up the Christmas festive joy, that we normally have for this year.
Still, we all need to try and keep our sprites up and keep in hope of the New Year yet to come? - Will bring us all, relieve and joy, from the despair that we all have gone through, from this scourge of Covid 19 Virus... for the great loss and damaged it has done.

At the mountain of Parnitha, just few kilometres from the centre of Athens, there is a different park . This park it's about reminiscence and remembrance.
It's an outdoor exhibition featuring twenty sculptures carved from burnt logs of the 2007 wildfire. The exhibition opened on October 2012 just opposite an abandoned building whose original use was to serve as a sanatorium from 1912 till 1960.
The sanatorium treated people who suffered from the scourge of the era, tuberculosis. Thousands of people were hospitalized there.
The exhibition, aptly entitled “The Park of Souls”, is dedicated to the memory of those who lived and died there and attempts to re-create the feelings of the inmates.
The fox does not fret because he has only one hole in which to hide. The squirrel does not sicken and die of anxiety lest he should not accumulate enough nuts for two winters instead of one. The dog loses no sleep over the fact that he does not have enough bones laid aside for his declining years :-)

I shot four pictures of deer, but the two best ones never turned out because my camera has a sticky shutter...ugh!
This invasive reed, Phragmites, has spread rapidly in wetlands throughout SE Michigan (and beyond). It has been mowed, burned and poisoned, but continues to choke streams and dry up wetlands, growing in dense, 6-8 foot (1.8-2.7m) tall masses.

Botswana has the largest elephant population on the continent due to tight protection and civil unrest in neighboring countries. The relative difficulty in accessing the wildlife areas coupled with the military threat to poachers has allowed the elephant population in Botswana to grow.
The Chobe River front was once only a part of the ancient elephant migration routes but with civil war in Angola and the war of liberation in Namibia the elephants fell victim to mass poaching. Rival armies were killing elephants for target practice and to sell ivory for weapons. The Chobe became the dry season refuge for the herds and over the years the numbers built up and Chobe’s reputation grew.
There have been incidents of poaching in Botswana, but the government decided to set up a military task force in the fight against the scourge. The task force became a full-time anti-poaching unit.
The end of the war in Namibia, and relative peace having returned to Angola, the elephants have slowly but surely started moving across the Chobe River again. There are many elephants that have not had the experience of migration routes and still see Chobe as a dry season refuge.
The Linyanti area of Botswana was once a hunting concession but in the past 10 years, with only photographic tourism being offered, the elephants are starting to return en masse to the region..
Other areas of Botswana such as the Okavango Delta also see high concentrations of elephant due to the permanent water source. – Internet Source - Botswana Wildlife
As per Wikipedia: "To prevent scurvy during the 19th century, British sailors were issued a daily allowance of citrus, such as lemon, and later switched to lime. The use of citrus was initially a closely guarded military secret, as scurvy was a common scourge of various national navies, and the ability to remain at sea for lengthy periods without contracting the disorder was a huge benefit for the military. British sailors thus acquired the nickname "Limey" because of their use of limes."

This was the 2nd to last cruise boat leaving this truly spiritual spot. I left on the last boat of that season.
Sadly, according to friends who have been here since my trip in 2016 the evergreens are succumbing to the scourge of pine bark beetles. They don't look like this now, brown and failing. 😢
They gave us about 15 minutes to scurry about getting shots from different angles. A great memory.

This destructive rodent is also known as a Copyu and I was very surprised to see one after the other boldly sunning themselves at Mackay Island National Wildlife Refuge, North Carolina. This particular part of the refuge is only open twice a year for an event called "Open Roads Day".

Wieskirche is an oval rococo church. It is located in the foothills of the Alps, in the municipality of Steingaden in the Weilheim-Schongau district, Bavaria, Germany.
It is said that, in 1738, tears were seen on a dilapidated wooden figure of the Scourged Saviour. This miracle resulted in a pilgrimage rush to see the sculpture. In 1740, a small chapel was built to house the statue but it was soon realized that the building would be too small for the number of pilgrims it attracted, and so Steingaden Abbey decided to commission a separate shrine. Many who have prayed in front of the statue of Jesus on the altar have claimed that people have been miraculously cured of their diseases, which has made this church even more of a pilgrimage site.
Construction took place between 1745 and 1754, and the interior was decorated with frescoes.
There is a popular belief that the Bavarian government planned to sell or demolish the rococo masterpiece during the secularization of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century, and that only protests from the local farmers saved it from destruction. Available sources, however, document that the responsible state commission clearly advocated the continuation of Wies as a pilgrimage site, even in spite of economic objections from the abbot of Steingaden
The Wieskirche was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1983 and underwent extensive restoration between 1985 and 1991.

(The Wanderers)
After landing on Kūki our hero & Shiroi ōkami is met by two ronin, Hikaru Sulu & Nikku Yemana. at first, they are unsure of the intentions of Rokudenashi, soon they discover their goals are one in the same. They will purge this land of Gōzā no Masutā and free the people of this scourge upon their land.
With an alliance formed, the Wandarāzu climb towards the mountain top home of Gōzā no Masutā and his beasts. With a sense of purpose, they steadily approach the place of what is sure to be a struggle of epic proportions that will make them all legends.
In the tranquil forest the sound of music cuts through the air. The path opens upon Teitaku no ie (the mansion home) of Gōzā no Masutā

I saw some challenge theme in a group to do a gender bent character. I had the Lich Queen idea on a back burner so to speak for a while now. I couldn't resist the idea of leading an army of Scourge. As always when I make sets it is twice as big as it needed to be. Now if can remember the group... lol

In the late 18th and early 19th century, thousands of Americans (including perhaps Abraham Lincoln’s mother) were dying of “milk sickness”. It was Dr. Anna Hobbs who showed that this pretty woodland plant was the cause after being told so by an elderly Shawnee woman. It’s toxin, tremetol, passes into the milk of cows that ingest it. After Dr. Hobbs’ demonstration of its nature, pasturelands were cleared of Snakeroot, and the scourge of milk sickness abated. No credit accrued to Hobbs in those times for her lifesaving work. White snakeroot is not uncommon, innocently blooming in partial shade along woodland paths I walk here in Northern New York.
