KZN's Umhlanga Rocks promenade boasts a new ‘21st century pier’, which redirects storm water off the beach into the sea, maintaining the Blue Flag status of the beach. The pier is unique in the region with long span sections on columns to permit continuous access along the beach & has a ‘whale-bone’ theme.
Oh yeah, it's scape season! WOOOO!!! And now that Schnookie is a master canner, scapes aren't just for pesto anymore! They're also for pickling!

Monument to the Present By Tom Dale for SCAPE Public Art Season 2018.
UK-based artist Tom Dale contributes three works to SCAPE Season 2018: two works made in ÅŒtautahi, a sculpture Monument to the Present and a video work The Red Zone, plus an earlier video work A Cage for Voices. This new sculptural work emerged after Dale spent time in ÅŒtautahi and Monument to the Present emerged from his observation of the challenges of having many voices and many perspectives vying to be heard, often representing conflicting ideas and imperatives. The imagery informing the silhouetted gesturing and pointing have been drawn from archival and contemporary media images from Canterbury and from existing figurative memorials in the city.

Re:scape was a uniquely creative event giving shape and voice to young people’s dreams and ideas.

In the foothills of the scenic southern Drakensberg, which forms part of the uKhahlamba World Heritage site.This is Nature in all its glory - grandiose scenery composed of the Drakensberg mountain chain, rivers and lakes. The mountains form an immense amphitheatre dominated by the highest peak - Mont-aux-Sources (3248m). Wonderful diversity of flora and fauna await discovery.
Numbered on the frontplate 11118. Well made movement with recoil escapement.
Dial signed John Moore & Sons Clerkenwell London 11118.
The time train is complete but the mechanism (lifting cam for the pins plus the actuating lever for depressing the pins?) is missing.
I can see a filled screw hole (plus steady pins ) on the frontplate to the left of the scape wheel pivot hole. Crutch appears to be a replacement.
