Pictured are two buses that were purchased used by SBS Transit in Lorain, Ohio in the 1990's. Bus #24 is a 1986-88 International S-Series with a Wayne body. This bus has a high headroom feature. Bus #120 is a 1990-91 Wayne Lifestar on a GM S-7 chassis. Both are most likely diesels. SBS Transit was a Lorain based contractor that was purchased by First Student around 2010. SBS was started in the late 1960's and served a number of school bus contracts in the Lorain area as well as some city transit service within the city of Lorain when they lost transit service in the 1970s. The company merged with the Cleveland Lorain Highway Coach company in the early 1970s and that division operated suburban routes into Cleveland and provided charter service for many years. Eventually the suburban routes were terminated and this division became known as Highway Coaches. Highway Coaches went out of business around 2005 or so. Photo by Gavin Berwald.
