some artsy-fartsy crap because I'm bored...

Unsure what blythe it belongs to, but I'm pretty sure it came from and SBL.

VRB vs Union Neuchatel

Après 3 ans d'absence et son dernier match en NBA, Thabo, l'enfant de La Riviera, revient dans son club de coeur.

Not my best ever photo, but at this time, in 1993, the flats behind, the notorious Queen Elizabeth Sq in Glasgow Hutchesonstown (aka The Gorbals) were about to be demolished. There were some who wanted them kept, as they were an admittedly 'spectacular' example of 1960s Brutalism, having been designed by Sir Basil Spence. However their proponents didn't have to live in them, and they were riddled with social problems, deprivation and crime, as well as dampness, so they had to go. They were soon to be demolished after this picture (you can see they're fenced off) so a picture of route 29 (which I often drove) was in order. I was a bit cautious having a camera out in that area, but it was a Sunday morning so it was Ok.

SBLs just give this adorable sideways smirk. I love it :)

I got this girl at an insanely reasonable price. She needs a little TLC but she's just beautiful!

Now she just needs a name!

The two Scanis in Southern Vectis livery have made their way over to the mainland, with 2007 in service earlier today on the 10 between Sholing and the city centre.

My 45-70 Marlin with an Aimpoint Micro on top.

I love my Mono Comme Ca. She was my birthday gift from my fiancé years ago now, and I had to wait three whole months to de-box her.

It's her haircut and that awesome icy blue eye-shadow that makes me weak at the knees...must be why I love Hollywood's so much also :)

Custom Blythe SBL #18

Para Amy

Sweet dreams ☺

Back on the road after a tidy up with new bumper, twin 6" stacks, more lights & alloys on the steer plus a custom interior

The 15 Alexander bodied Metrobuses were generally better screwed together than the MCW bodied ones, but had extremely tight cabs. This batch too had 4 speed Voiths, and some of these were real gems, MB10 in particular. Again, slow diffs found their way into a few.

MB19 is seen at the leafy (but don't let that fool you...) North Pollok, Lyoncross Rd terminus on the 91, on a route introduced that year to replace the 9, which became the 9A to Pollok Centre only and didn't serve North Pollok.

The first of SBL's large batch of Volvo Citybuses is seen here new in 1989. It is still running on its original 275/70 low-profile tyres, which were soon changed for normal size 295/80 tyres when they found things underneath starting grounding the road, increasing their height to a lofty 14' 7". I believe the SBL specified certain items in certain places, hence this problem which was not, as far as I'm aware, a problem on other Citybuses elsewhere which ran on their low profiles. The big tyres also increased the step height, this was long before people worried about lowfloors etc. I drove them a few years later than this pic was taken - they were spectacularly good buses, all the drivers loved them, and they had an excellent seating capacity of 84, all facing forward, but the high step and three step entrance did slow down stop times, whilst Aggie and Senga struggled up and down the steps with their messages.

Note the Royal Concert Hall taking shape in the background, to be opened a year later in 1990 when Glasgow was voted European City of Culture. Pure dead brilliant.

Elliot.. she lives again..

she still isn't finished.. but I really wanted to take a photo of her.. she is a tiny bit of a disaster too.. just like her other SBL sister.. she has been changed and altered and painted too many times to count.. i even colored her whole faceplate blue one day out of frustration... yet she lives on.. i knew a sweetheart was hiding in there somewhere.. so despite her battle wounds and over-carving.. she is still a little love <3
