Say hi to my great friend who has been giving me much joy over the last nine months in the back garden and who loves nothing more than to soak up the suns rays and roll about on the grass and be so friendly and photogenic for me. This young lad looks more grown up now and is in a great shape and condition, he certainly gets the attention from the female vixens now.
This smiley oriole just made my day he is so cute and my best model this spring, hope everyone have a great start of the week be safe! :)

Zuidzijde is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee. It lies south of the village of Den Bommel and has 180 inhabitants. The water tower is no longer in service but can still be seen from afar. Another landmark is farmhouse De Lage Werf, one of the oldest buildings on the island which dates back to around 1640, when it was originally build as a country house.
Goeree-Overflakkee is the southernmost delta island of the province of South Holland, Netherlands.
In the spring, the island is known for it's tulip-fields in the most amazing colours. Every year a lot of, mostly Japanese, tourist will visit the island just for the tulips.
This along with a few other ducks were quite happily sitting on the pavement at Abberton reservoir ( Layer Breton causeway ). So decided to get down to there level for some close up portraits! Went for sharp teeth instead of eye! More to come!
* I made my annual pilgrimage to RSPB Bempton on Wednesday evening . It was unusual weather on the cliffs, warm and still instead of the usual chilly East wind . It obviously effected the birds the Gannets in particularly were flying much lower down the cliffs instead of being at eye level. It made flight shots much more difficult . I have to say I was not too concerned about getting too many images . I still have a lot of photos from Bempton in the archives from 2018, 2019 and 2020
This is one of the few I did take as I was using a long lens 500 mm I could not get it wide enough to catch all the Gannets wing . Stepping back to get a wider view would have been difficult Still I am quite happy with the result.

October 30th 2010, 11 years ago today, Lovers of Landscapes began, and I'm so happy our group is still going strong.
I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to my Partner Admin, Tony / Guy@Fawkes for all the years together and those to come - thank you ! The idea for this, our first group together, was conceived while we walked by a canal, so here's another canal photo - this one is the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal, which I took from the Tyburn Bridge on a nice day in October.

April is National Poetry Month, a celebration of poets and poetry that's been in place for 25 years.
Last month, as the U.S. grieved over attacks against Asian Americans, NPR's Morning Edition collected poems on how people grapple with the increased violence and discrimination.
Over 500 listeners shared powerful, poignant poems — in the form of a list beginning with the word "today." They showcased fear, anger, empathy and motivation to make the world a better place.
NPR's resident poet Kwame Alexander took lines from the submissions to create a community poem, "Today, I Am A Witness To Change."
