I saw a flock of Cockatoos on the way to the Botanical Gardens.

They were hunting for bulbs on the lawn next to the side of the road.

I sat and watch them for a while and this one came quite close to me. It then picked up a daisy flower and I clicked when it is looking at me.

Many thanks for your visit, comments, invites and faves...it is always appreciated.

Peaceful Sunday

** I saw a lot of these very attractive covered bridges in both New Hampshire and Quebec . This was a good example that dates back to 1886 spotted in the Franconia Notch State Park in New Hampshire . I am curious as to why they are always red but I suppose a lot of barns are too

THANKS FOR YOUR VISITING BUT CAN I ASK YOU NOT TO FAVE AN IMAGE WITHOUT ALSO MAKING A COMMENT. MANY THANKS KEITH.

ANYONE MAKING MULTIPLE FAVES WITHOUT COMMENTS WILL SIMPLY BE BLOCKED

I saw my first of year Swainson's Thrush today. I can't decide which I prefer Hermit or Swainson's ... I'm glad I don't have to choose!

I was wandering a field one day and saw a clump of clover flowers....for some lizard brain reason I felt compelled to eat them...they were very sugary. How did my brain know that? Then I thought about all the squirrels that probably peed on them...ugh...my brain can be so mean.

Sheep.

Never saw this strange beauty before ;-))

"Helvella is a genus of ascomycete fungus of the family Helvellaceae. The mushrooms, commonly known as elfin saddles, are identified by their irregularly shaped caps, fluted stems, and fuzzy undersurfaces. They are found in North America and in Europe. Well known species include the whitish H. crispa and the grey H. lacunosa. They have been reported to cause gastrointestinal symptoms when eaten raw." - WiKi

"Kluifzwammen (Helvella) is een geslacht van schimmels. Soorten uit dit geslacht komen voor in Noord-Amerika en Europa.

Bekende soorten zijn de witte kluifzwam (Helvella crispa) en de zwarte kluifzwam (Helvella lacunosa). Door de geplooide of gegroefde steel en hoed zien deze zwammen er uit als hondenkluifjes." - WiKi

Saw this Ruby-crowned kinglet in with a flock of bushtits in a bush next to me. The first I've seen one of these beauties in quite some time!

I saw this beautiful Fish at the Atlanta Aquarium last weekend white visiting my sister, The colors on this Fish is Amazing and Breath Taking. My first thought was WOW, then Gorgeous, then Fantastic beauty. Their were a lot of beautiful Fish their but this one really caught my eye, glowing in the Water.

When I saw the fleeting last light striking these gorgeous aspen-clad mountains along the Silver Thread, I really liked how those last rays amplified the warm colors of the autumn foliage. I went with a simple composition here to help isolate the special light and play off the contrast of the hillside still in shade, it sort of has made me think I need to explore lower-dynamic range/high-contrast compos more often.

"I saw deep in the eyes of the animals the human soul look out upon me. I saw where it was born deep down under feathers and fur, or condemned for a while to roam four-footed among the brambles,I caught the clinging mute glance of the prisoner and swore that I would be faithful."

- Heny David Thoreau

Saw three of these lovely birds flying together last week and was very happy to capture a few low flying images.

We saw a fantastic concert last night by Ian Felice, and this was one of the standout songs he performed, though they were all superb. It is a wonderful life, and it's important to make the most of it.

Saw this toy car in a gift shop and something about it just caught my eye :)

I saw this cow and I do take a picture of him that day, but then he was gone after the day I took a picture of him, I was so sad because many thoughts appeared in my head, is he killed by the butcher? etc. flic.kr/p/2nRmDgv

today I was passing through the field and saw him, and I am really happy for he is alive then I called him and he towards me (he didn't say anything, of course he can't speak, haha), I think it's definitely some kind of lost and found.

I deeply hope he has a happy life and healthy. 🐃

Have a great day and stay well, my friends.,😊😊

An odd expression with contorted facial disk as he/she prepares to eat after sleeping earlier while holding this headless Deer Mouse tucked between branch and body.

Une marche au Bois Sainte Dorothée, Laval avec Marie Sauriol. Environ 3h00 et plus. Nous avons trouvé la Petite Nyctale très bien cacher dans les conifères dans l'ombre. Je l'ai éclaisie beaucoup.

When I saw Galahs in my yard today, I cautiously stepped into the yard, expecting they would fly away. They just looked at me, giving me the impression they already knew who I was, and they weren't afraid. They moved around the perimeter fence and seemed to survey me and the environment. Perhaps they were looking for a particular variety of seed, such as Sunflower seeds. If I passed muster, they will surely be back tomorrow and every day thereafter.

When I saw the report that the Leucistic Bald Eagle made an appearance in the morning I knew I had to take my chances at this super rare raptor. I left at 4a.m. and drove two hours South. I had to wait for the sun to rise, but found him immediately crunching bones from a fish he was holding down on the mudflats. Shortly after he perched just above us next to the walking trail. Still no light but extremely close. He was very calm as he did not flinch when a jogger came by. He flew to this Eucalyptus several times and perched calmly for several minutes. The light was starting to filter through the leaves in the background as this majestic beauty posed for us. It was a very awe inspiring experience I will never forget. We had a solid two hours to photograph him that morning. He eventually flew off into the distance and we were admiring and reflecting on this one of a kind beauty.

We saw this Common Snipe flying past us and finally located where it had landed in the reeds. Unfortunately the light was not great where it landed!

Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment or fave my images.

We saw that tiny guy during our journey through the forest. He seemed lost. Either slept till the day time and forgot to come back into his hole. We found the closest one and brought him there. Hope he is all well now.

I must say, I was shocked when I saw how nighttime changes an owl's face. While they become fearsome predators at night, they also become much more adorable to us humans, who have evolved to perceive large eyes as captivating and innocent.

In an effort to find area barred owls, I set out to a local park before sunrise and came upon this Eastern Screech Owl (Megascops asio) in the dark. This darkness was so inky and thick, in fact, that I could not see if he was in his hole or not, so trained my tripoded camera on the hole, manually focused, and finally saw him in the preview window! Shocked for sure by those massive pupils staring down at me, a frog (which he swallowed greedily prior to this photo and while I watched) in his talons!

Interestingly, owl eyeballs are not balls at all, but so well evolved for night vision that they have elongated into eye cones. For this reason, they cannot move their eyes in their sockets, and have evolved wildly-flexible necks. With their highly acute retinas replete with rods (the light and movement sensing eye bits), there wasn't much room for cones, and so most owls see limited or no color!

Not sure if this was the name of the ranch but with these hanging over their fence I named it the saddle & saw, Happy Fence Friday and have a good weekend

Yesterday I saw a wood duck in a little lake near the dancing hall were my little girl trains. I did some photos, but it was late for december (3h30 PM) and raining, so absolutely no light. Even if these photos are not the nicest ever, I'm happy with them because I barely see this kind of duck (only few time a year). So I'll try to post other photo later, I picked one in the serie.

We saw a total of one Gulf fritillary recently at Gibbs Gardens - these frits are late getting started this year. They love to nectar on flowers that clash with their bright orange color! This one on Gomphrena/globe amaranth. last week - North Georgia

Happy Butterfly Monday!

Becky saw the nice sunflowers that Anya brought me for Valentine's Day and ask if she could have her picture taken with them.. I told her one but not the whole bouquet.. So here she is, the happy camper holding one of the sunflowers.. Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday, Everybody!!!!!

we saw this blond male a few times in Mara North Conservancy, while he was in the company of a female of a small pride. Initially she refused to mate with him but we heard afterwards that they were seen while mating.

Many thanks for your views, favorites and supportive comments.

Saw this stunningl little Bloody-nosed beetle larvae while walking on the Coastal Path between Polperro and Lansallos, Cornwall, UK. I think it was sleeping/sunning itself, just less than long 1cm at rest, handheld, used an Olloclip macro add on lens @ 14x magnification and a Hisy remote for this shot. Gently tickled and cropped in 'Photos' on Mac.

Earlier in day we had actually seen the adult version moving slowly, plodding along the path, they are quite comical, they walk as if they have hobnail boots on that are far too big for them, lifting their legs high into the air, slowly and deliberately, one by one......just wonderful to watch!!! Only now after identification do I know what they are.....

Saw this field of Rapeseed (thanks for the ID Wrenw17 ) and needed to stop for a pic.

I hope everyone enjoys this image! :D

Deep inside an oak hammock was this beautiful example of an incredibly old saw palmetto. They are amazingly slow growers of only 1/4 inch to 3/4 inch per year and it can take 100 years for one to become an adult. The long pithy stem is an identifier for this plant and I estimate the length of the stem to be15 foot at minimum. Do the math this is a very old palmetto.

I saw you slowly rising…

Saw you shining in the blue sky.

I saw the clouds covering you…

and then saw you shining after the rain.

I saw you on the endless horizons…

saw you slowly going down in flames.

I saw you sinking in the sea of tears…

Without greeting,

No goodbye.

I know…you will shine again for me!

When I saw this hair and cap from Wasabi in the Weekend Sale, I had to have it. It reminded me of times when a bunch of us would get together and play softball at the local sandlot. Then we had to grow up :(

This hair and cap is available at the Wasabi Store. You might still catch it on sale if you hurry.

Saw a Buzzard flying much lower than usual at Attenborough Nature Reserve, Nottingham. Quickly it came down and rested on a post. I watched it for a while and took shots of it on the post and also flying off and back onto it. An incredible few moments being much closer to one of these beauties than ever before!
