.. we all have in common. ~Wendell Berry

So Dear Flickr Friends, I request you all to save water even when you feel you currently don't need to... remember.. It's not an endless resource and that children learn best by example .... So please set that example wherever you are..

Tasmania might be heading into a drought

Note: This photo was actually taken when I was living and working in Shanghai. That is my coffee mug in a stone sink.

Photographic notes: The dripping/leaking tap into my coffee mug gave me an idea, one day, when free from work, to capture the free-fall of the water drop. If you think it is easy, try it. Try accurately focusing on water, for example. So, I decided to float a toothpick on the water and focus on that. Great idea, except the water drop was not ns focus. I decided to get a wet black thread and suspend it from the tap/faucet. Things were looking up. OK, next was getting the exposure correct, getting the shadow and highlights and contrast correct. Well, I discovered that Shutter Speed was not the most effective nor the most efficient to freeze the free-fall of the water drop and timing when to release the shutter complicated it. Often, the water drop had already splashed into the mug or rebounded, as in this photo. The shape of this one fascinated me, because it has a human form. What I discovered was that using off-camera flash and using the speed of light was the most effective. Still, I did much trial and error.

Villagers, every day, come to obtain water, in the central point of the village. While tourists, a few kms away from there, enjoy, without limits, showers and pools.

Earthen water coolers being sold in every nook and corner ...but alas... where is the water ??

Its March and summer has officially just started and we have been warned of acute water shortage this summer. We are already seeing glitches in water supply. To tackle this, Bangaloreans have started the "Half Bucket Challenge" .. My family has also taken up this challenge and this is our third successful week. It's quite easy and comfortable.. Take it up for yourself and do your bit.

To make a faucet stop dripping, you need to replace the tap washer. Eventually this will not be enough since the problem is inside the pipe: this is where the Tap Valve Seat Grinding Tool enter to perform the task. The tap reseating tool + a new plumbsure rubber tap washer = One perfect job! Save water! Save earth!

HMM! =)

2019 is on target to be Australia’s forth warmest consecutive year as the drought drags into another new sad record. This picture illustrates what’s left of a river bed that has been completely dry for the last 3 years . We all need to do our part to save water and protect our environment

SAVE WATER

My best in creative edit so far~!

ya long way to go :\

Be Aware, Use Water with Care` : Save Nature & Save Future

Pothundi Dam is an irrigation dam near a small village in Palakkad district of Kerala state, India. It was constructed in the 19th century. The dam is unusual in being constructed without a conventional concrete core, which is employed in most earth dams to counteract the force exerted by high water pressure. The core is, instead, an unusual mixture of jaggery and quick lime.It is the second dam in Asia constructed without using cement mixture.
