What an amazing Save the Date session I had with Shawnee & Curtis last Sunday in Missoula. She wanted some unique images for her Save the Date session and boy did she get them! Just 5 minutes into the session the snow started to fall and continued through most of the session. I didn’t want them to freeze or get soaked from all the snow falling on them so we would shoot a few images and then have them jump in the car to warm up and dry off a bit before each and every round of pictures.
I on the other hand stood outside and battle the elements trying to keep my camera as dry as possible. I can’t express enough how much I love the images from this session! It’s not everyday that you get to shoot a portrait session with the snow falling and such a great looking couple to boot!.

Use photos of the happy couple to be, and tie them simply with ribbon. You could actually use these as wedding favours - people are less likely to break their teeth on them :)

I was asked by my nephew and his fiancé to help them design a "save our date" image…this is the first, running it by them tonight to see what they think…I'm not too sure myself.
She helped out a lot, by sleeping and watching over our save the dates. looking for a wedding design, feel free to contact us, we do designs and letterpress!
My little sister is getting married.
I can't take the wedding photos (Rebekah Westover will have to do)
But she did let me shoot her save the date and we have an engagement shoot scheduled for the spring! I shot digital, Sara did all film.. had so much fun.

Day 46, Feb. 15: Received the "Save the Date" notice from Emily and Justin, and it's on our refrigerator. I'm excited at the prospect!
Helped a friend get a pic for her Save The Date cards today. It was a lot of fun trying to get these two to sit together and look at me... fortunately, the "group shot" guided photo merge on elements is really really easy to use! Aren't the a cute pair?
Gocco printed with dark brown ink on Curious Metallic 93# cover in "cappucino". Ivory envelopes are lined with a pink and gold patterned paper.
Our envelopes came from a local paper store (now out of business :( ). Any A2 size envelope will work for this type card. The final card was 5.5" x 4.25".
Crafty wedding/party ideas on my blog this week:

I had a fantastic session with fellow NHIA alum Cindy Rizza and her wonderful fiance Peter on Sunday.
This was the first session I've done during the winter; usually I become a big bear and hibernate in the studio and don't get very motivated to go outside for location shooting. But Mother Nature gave us a gorgeous sunny day with wonderful cloud formations, and everything fell into place.
We spent the afternoon walking around and shooting.
Here are some example proofs from our session.

i didn't realize it when I took the picture, but I guess this is kind of an apt picture for the date.
Continuing with the wedding theme week... We designed, printed and assembled our "Save the Date" cards for the wedding. I was a wee bit obsessed over the printed goods for our wedding and really wanted to do something memorable. I loved the idea of creating something interactive and fun (although I'm not sure how many people actually did the puzzle) and we thought it would be cheaper and easier to do it ourselves. I'm crafty, so it should be a breeze, right? ;-) I'm not sure about either the cheaper or the easier part in the end, but we were quite happy with the way they turned out, although Mr. P may have developed a lifelong dislike of papercutting, the Xyron machine, and all craft stores in general as a result of this process.
