with a lenght of 33/38cm this is the biggest south african bee eater and obviously it's specialized an medium/big targets like this very big dragonfly

Just love these cool street artist dudes and I was glad to see them back again around the urban streets of Digbeth, doing a Street Art Festival to brighten up, with their fantastic street artwork!
It seems that I can't get any satisfaction at the moment, with not getting my normal email notifications from flickr, in order to keep up tabs with all my cool flickr friends with their new uploads.

Red-throated Loon. I was making a census of the wintering birds for my region and to see such a rare species, at least for us Abruzzese, was really a fortune. It will not be as beautiful as when it is in summer dress, but photographing it in a port of Abruzzo only with the camouflage cloth, it was still a great satisfaction. Abruzzo - Italy

Really struggled to think of something original and different for this theme on Crazy Tuesday. I tried a few different ideas but none of them seemed to work, especially not to my satisfaction.
Gave up for a while and decided, mid-afternoon to boil an egg as a snack as feeling a bit peckish and whilst the water was boiling away, the thought struck me that maybe there might be a suitable ‘motion blur’ shot in the pan, not just the egg!
I took some shots and, lo and behold I arrived at some images that might prove suitable, I thought. I chose this one and after a little cropping decided that it was different and in my mind, quite original. The water surface appears smoothed out, adopting an oily look and getting rid of the individual bubbles, small and big. In my mind it looks a bit like transparent lava in the mouth of a volcanic crater! I know, I have a weird brain!

Although doing a "365" is not for everyone, for those that do enjoy it, there is a real sense of satisfaction when number 365 comes around. This is my sincere congrats to all of you in this global community for your significant achievement – you've inspired me, made me smile and laugh, taught me about and showed me new parts of the world, invited me into your journey, pulled at my heart-strings, and given me much to be thankful for.... The first of 2016. It can look like any other sunrise (or sunset), of course. But some folks wake up early or stay up from last night's New Year's Eve festivities to mark the beginning of another year. If only for the personal satisfaction in knowing that there are 366 days (2016 is a Leap Year) to do things that were unaccomplished in the previous year. Like taking more sunrise/sunset photos. This one, incidentally, was taken with a smart phone.

First glimpse of the Koropuku falls in the Catlins area. This walkway was built and is maintained by 2 retired gentlemen, who I was lucky to meet during one of our trips to the falls. They are doing a wonderful job and for no compensation other than the satisfaction of seeing people enjoy it!
This visit was during some rain (hence WR lens) and so the falls look great.

Utilizzai una pellicola per me speciale la Kodak 160 GPX professional non più esistente, utilizzando una Pentax K 1000, il solito treppiedino e scatto flessibile. Era autunno inoltrato ed attesi, la luce del tramonto. Questa prospettiva mostra il borgo antico del paese ove è presente un arco acuto risalente al 3.000 a.c. di costruzione Ernica, un antico popolo locale e pre-romano. Questo scatto raggiunse la finale del premo Vittorio Bachelet andando in mostra nel locale che ospitò la premiazione e per me fu una grande soddisfazione perchè era la mia prima partecipazione a questo concorso fotografico nazionale. Ringrazio tutti per gli eventuali gradimenti.
I took this shot way back in 1996, in the village of Arpino (FR), the birthplace of Cicero. I used a special film for me the Kodak 160 GPX professional that no longer exists, using a Pentax K 1000, the usual tripod and flexible shutter. It was late autumn and I waited for the light of the sunset. This perspective shows the ancient village of the town where there is a pointed arch dating back to 3,000 BC. of Ernica construction, an ancient local and pre-Roman people. This shot reached the final of the Vittorio Bachelet prize going on display in the room that hosted the award ceremony and for me it was a great satisfaction because it was my first participation in this national photographic competition.
