I was happy to meet Satchel at the farm today, a perfect name for a small dog. He posed nicely for some photos, and I'm happy to have captured some of his eyes. His parents said they have difficulty with that. As usual, I pointed them to the farm's Flickr album, where they can download his photos.

Satchel Paige
One of the greatest baseball players of any League. Truly a Legend.
I was fortunate enough to meet him. In the late 60's he was pitching as an exhibition at the Cardinals Triple A Minor League park in Springfield, Illinois. My father made sure I saw him and got to shake his hand. He was in his 60's at that time.
