A photoshop effort that shouldn't be too closely scrutinised but I quite like the effect.

African Elephant and Hippos. Nsemani Waterhole, Satara, Kruger National Park, South Africa. Explored 14 Jun 2016.
Elephants are notorious for driving other animals (and birds) away when they congregate around a waterhole. They don't like sharing the space at all!
To give you an idea of scale, the adult Hippo is around 1.5m at the shoulder and the Elephant is around 3.5m at the shoulder.
I hardly ever post twice in the same day but I probably won't get a chance tomorrow so sharing this handsome male Giraffe.

There always seems to be buffalo somewhere on the S41 and we found this herd just as it started to rain.

Near Satara rest camp, the White- headed vulture patrols the sky looking for its next meal.
Wikipedia: White-headed vulture populations have been declining since the early 1940s; it was classified as Vulnerable in the 2007 IUCN Red List. Recent indications that the species is rarer than previously thought have led to a status upgrade to Critically Endangered in 2015.[1]

Large males often live alone, unlike females which gather in groups with their young females and males.
Les grands mâles vivent souvent seuls, contrairement aux femelles qui se rassemblent en groupes avec leurs petits et les jeunes mâles.

Saw more buffalo in the park last year than I've ever seen before and they are quite photogenic in their own way.

These birds are very common in the park and most guides refer to them as LBR's.
An overcast day always produces good light and an uncluttered backdrop.

I often wonder how buffaloes put up with having a beak up their nose.
