Just one of the alien like landscapes we saw on the Salar dau Uyuni tour. It smelled of rotten eggs, the temperature of the water was around 90 degrees, the wind made it hard for us to stand there and the altitude of nearly 5500 meters made it tough for everyone to breathe!

Try this. Click on the map and find the spot where I stood. Zoom in close. Now click on 'Hybrid' or 'Satellite'. Look at the patterns left by farm machinery. You won't find any orchards, or prunes. But you will see some interesting patterns.

Just after sunrise the sky took on some nice but subtle colours which was nice to experience as it wasn't looking good up to that point.
This was taken at sunrise at the end of Collingwood Beach, Jervis Bay, south coast NSW, a wonderful place to live.
Råbjerg Mile, an der Nordspitze Jütlands, ist mit einer Ausdehnung von ungefähr 2 km², Dänemarks größte Wanderdüne.
Überall an der jütländischen Küste entlang wird das Sandtreiben auf verschiedene Weise abgebremst, u.a. durch Aufforstung. Hier in Råbjerg Mile aber hersscht die Natur. Durch Naturschutz ist die freie Wanderung der Düne gesichert worden.
Der Westwind sorgt dafür, dass sich die Sanddüne jedes Jahr ungefähr 15 Meter nach Osten bewegt. Schätzungen zufolge wird Råbjerg Mile etwa um das Jahr 2130 die 3,5 km entfernte Landstraße nach Skagen erreichen und nach weiteren 30 Jahren in der Ostsee verschwinden.
The sky lights up looking "through&out" a small passage during sunrise at Leo Carillo Beach.
Taken during a quick run up at Leo Carillo Beach in Malibu. After arriving just before dawn, Bill & I scouted around the perimeter for interesting subject matter. After discovering the arch there, I didn't think it could get any better, but I was in for a real treat. Bill was shooting lower on the reef as I shot from above, then he moved off to the right and disappeared from my view, I moved my tripod lower on the reef and Bill was gone. I became slightly alarmed and moved to investigated his demise, Hehe, As I traversed the reef to the north I found him shooting a small cove so I picked up my tripod to join him and when I looked up he was gone again, I climbed down onto the beach of this small cove and found that there was a passage across to the beach on the south where the arch is. I couldn't believe that I hadn't heard of this place before especially with a small cove, a cave, and an arch, it was the trifecta of photography bliss and there wasn't another person there, see it was a real treat.

This is a color shot but the cloudless, high sun day gives it the hue of a sepia tone. These, of course, are sand fences, the front line soldiers in the ongoing war against beach erosion. Have a great weekend everybody.
