Nara, Japan.
Lovely room, same designers who did Haco. They have a design showroom upstairs, and The White Room, an intimate warehousey space where DJ's do their thing on the weekends. CTD rosettes are used to collect water samples from predetermined depths of the ocean. From Jim Swift: "the science
team is busy collecting water samples from their
chosen levels. There are up to 21 individual
water samples drawn from each 30-liter bottle,
some of which are up to 20 liters in volume, so
it can be necessary at times to close 3 of the
bottles at one level. Other times as few as 6-8
water samples are drawn from a bottle ... it's
all a matter of which science team needs water
from which level at which station."
