IAEA experts visited Japan from 8 to 14 September 2014 and -- together with staff from NRA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs -- collected water samples from the sea at five locations near TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station,
The water samples were shared both between the IAEA Environmental Laboratories and the Japanese Laboratories to e=be analyzed independently.

In years past manufactures were very nice in providing small sample packets of their products. Grocers or at exhibitions were one place that they could be obtained, the other was sending off to the manufacturer for a sample.
Due to the high price of postage today, the cost of sending the item is more than the cost of the product, it is far easier for a manufacturer to simply allow the potential customer to download a voucher and go and get a free full size pack from the supermarket.
Interesting little collectables are no more.

For those who've asked about the durability of this product,you can see the sample here which I put to the test before buying it. This was nowhere near normal wear and tear. I even had a friend stomp on it with her high heels and couldn't even see where she'd stomped! I used a knife handle because it's a small concentrated force. I hit it HARD. If you went all out,you'd see gouge marks and big dents but a reasonable test has to be fair.
Sample of altar cloth. Pricking from Svenska Spetstar 40/2 Bockens linen. this is the second sample, out of the same thread to be used on the main project. It enables church members to see what is going on, and helps the maker eliminate mistakes from the actual cloth edging. It has been boiled to check for shrinkage.
Tash and Sandy at the Comore Row Food Festival in Birmingham and although it remained we all had a great time with the food selection that was on offer. Tasha on the left had a sample from Asha's and Sandy on the right had a sausage roll from Purnell's restaurant.

Sample worked in pearl cotton #8 on 22-count hardanger fabric. The central block of the 'flower' motifs are filled with a buttonhole eyelet.The stitch here is worked over 2 x 2 threads of fabric.
From left to right: bright nickel, dull nickel, bright chrome, dull chrome.
If I were a better photographer, I could probably get a better representation of the actual finish on these, but here's a brief description to help visualize the different finishes. The bright chrome is the shiny-est silvery finish--just like the chrome parts you'd see on a motorcycle. The bright nickel is similarly shiny, but it's a darker finish. It almost looks like it has a brownish tinge compared to the chrome. The dull chrome has a satin finish that looks light blue compared to the others. The dull nickel is most similar to titanium, but still a little more silver than grey.
The chrome is actually a second layer over the nickel. The platers say that the chrome is the most durable. The nickel will tarnish over time in a way that the chrome won't.
