No fue posible esta vez. El físico no acompañó y no hice una buena aclimatación. Todo esto junto a un resfriado que me duró hasta un mes después de volver de Nepal, acabó por zanjar las expectativas a 200 metros de la meta.
No siempre se consigue el objetivo en montaña. Pero de la experiencia siempre se aprende. Es preferible volver sano y salvo que conseguir un logro con daños colaterales irreversibles. El Island Peak siempre estará ahí.

It was not possible this time. My physical condition wasn't ok and I didn't a good acclimatization. Furthermore, I caught a big cold lasting up to one month after returning from Nepal. All in all, it put an end to expectations at 200 meters to summit.
Not always the goal is achieved at mountain. But you always learn to experience. It is preferable to return safe and sound instead to get an achievement with irreversible collateral damage. Island Peak will be always there.

well I'm back!! it was a great week...but now I have school to [not] look forward to :/ at least I'm back home safe (you don't even wanna know about the ride home) and finally have photoshop. I MISSED PHOTOSHOP!! and I missed uploading.
I know this is similar to the last one I posted but get over it. hahaha. BUT SERIOUSLY, I have sooo many photos to upload. it'll probably take a couple weeks to get them all up here, haha :D

It's Music Monday! I only just remembered, having arrived back in town after a trip to the coast with a good friend. And while I had intended to share a different song tonight, I came across some new music - a sweet and haunting melody by Taylor Swift and a duo known at The Civil Wars. It's called Safe and Sound, and it's a song also featured on the soundtrack for The Hunger Games. The song and video can be found here.
And this... this is from Dog Mountain last spring, and made with the help of a Hasselblad 500 C/M.

So this was taken on April 12th. I’msoashamed. While I was taking this, I got some type of allergic reaction or attacked by bugs and I red hives ALL over along with huge scratches. Boo. It was painful.
ON THE OTHER HAND, Friday was super duper great. I went thrifting then headed over to Dee’s to help her with her photography homework. Her dad didn’t want to take us to this location we wanted to go to but luckily her brother’s girlfriend was willing to take us. So we got to this location and realized all of the flowers had been mowed and decided to just adventure down this dock. At the other side was this lovely field and kjsldhflksj just a beautiful location. Yes. We’re going back. So we took pictures and had fun and such (like trying to climb trees). Then we left. And we decided to adventure some more down a dirt road. This involved us getting the car stuck and we had to push it out, which didn’t work, and then we reversed all the way down. So. Yes. Fun. Then to not draw attention to the fact that we were dirty and wet, we jumped into the pool fully-clothed. And it was a fabulous day.

That I remember? Uhm. I’m too tired to try to recall anything. NO WAIT. My teacher (one that I really hate) wouldn’t give me a bandaid. And I was bleeding like crazy and I was just like, “CAN I HAS A BAND-AID?” and he said, “No, I’m saving them for my kids.” And I was like “-___________-”… Oh wait. THAT WAS REAL LIFE.
Your strangest dream:
Harry Potter was running around inside of my brain casting spells and doing other whatnot that wizards do. And it was incredibly painful. So a little me appeared and took his wand away and the little me said, “You stupid Gryffindor, get your self together and get out.” He didn’t listen and he pulled out another wand and proceeded to jump around inside of my head for hours. I woke up with a major headache.

I don't know exactly where this photo came from, I just started shooting and this is what happened. Well, okay. I started shooting outside in the rain then I lost my remote and then I got soaked and freezing cold. I found my remote unharmed, then began shooting INSIDE. (;
Rockport , Texas Shrimpers.. I misspoke about SAFEandSOUND... the marina was wiped away in the storm... Ironically , a gentleman came into the gallery and purchased this framed the DAY BEFORE the hurricane..... so the story behind this is unusual to say the least.. Taken from a balcony of a fine restaurant for seafood in Rockport... Nearly the entire town was involved in this devastation from HARVEY... But , enjoy it.

Oh I am SO excited about these little guys! Uhh!! This is just one of the two nests that are in my backyard with 3 Robin's eggs in each nest. Mom flew away for a bit and I snatch this opportunity up real quick.

This is my fourth tribute to Taylor Swift (here is the previous one) and my second tribute to The Hunger Games! This is one of the most beautiful songs by Taylor (and The Civil Wars as background vocals), which was part of the soundtrack for the film, so if you never heard any of her songs, you definitely should listen to this one. :)
Some people think that this is the lullaby Katniss sung to her younger sister Prim. Some people think Katniss sung it to fellow tribute Rue, who she tried to protect, but failed. But if you have read the book and watched the official video for this song, you will understand that Taylor seems to represent Katniss's best friend Madge Undersee, the mayor's daughter, which unfortunately wasn't in the film. So this is my tribute to her.
It was Madge who actually gave Katniss the gold mockingjay pin after Katniss volunteered as a tribute, and she made her promise she would wear it into the arena (tributes were allowed to take just one item to remind them of home). The mockingjay was her aunt's, Maysilee Donner, who was a friend of Katniss's mother and who was taken as a tribute along with Haymitch, and died on the arena when only five tributes left.
In the second book Madge really wanted to go to the woods with Katniss, and Katniss taught her to shoot a bow and arrow, and Madge tried to teach Katniss to play piano in return. Later in the book, when Gale was brutally whipped for poaching, Madge came to Katniss's house despite the snowstorm, to offer up six vials of morphling "for Katniss's friend". Despite Haymitch's "funny" joke about it, I don't understand why a lot of readers thought she did it because she liked Gale who she has seen only once. It was absolutely clear, if you re-read the scene with mockingjay pin, that she did it for Katniss. This is when you help your friend's friends to make your friend happy, because you know they're in need and your friend cares about them. Of course, that was overlooked just because Haymitch likes to annoy Katniss. And because Katniss is such a slowpoke, she realised Madge has been her friend all along only when she gave her a mockingjay pin. Oh well... xD
Unfortunately, Madge, her parents and two their workers died in the end of the second/beginning of the third book, when the Capitol bombed District 12. This is unfair. She was so kind... Well, this is a kind of book where anyone can die. And honestly I swear Katniss should have died when she killed Coin, everything that happened after was unrealistic, the happy ending seems so forced and alien compared to book vibes like it was written by a different author! Well, that's the story for another time...
I tried to take a picture of smoke again and I wanted it too look more like mist. It didn't go well, I accidentally burned a hole in the plastic background for my lightcube and melted a couple of pins, because I did not realise the stick is hot enough to melt plastic, and let it lay down for a while, while trying to change the settings to make better pictures. No, it wasn't obvious! xD

So excited for the Hunger Games movie to come out over spring break. I love the song that they released as I love Tswift and the civil wars so they surprisingly sounded good together. THREE MORE DAYS
