Don't be sad little kiwi you tasted sweet, juicy and so delicious.

This gave me a smile when I cut into my kiwi fruit.

The sad face of Witwe Bolte (Widow Tibbets in the English version; here she looks as if she had a toothache, doesn't she?) on the handle of the teaspoon from my childhood cutlery set. Witwe Bolte is a character featured in the first two verses/pranks (and the epilogue; my caption and sub-caption are the first two verses of that epilogue; the English translation is courtesy of David Gorman who translated the whole story) of Wilhelm Busch's "Max and Moritz: A Story of Seven Boyish Pranks". Max and Moritz is one of the most popular German children's books ever, published for the first time in 1865, and translated into 300 languages. The pranks are full of wicked humour, and when I was little, I didn't particularly like the characters of Max and Moritz because they were such nasty little boys who terrorized their whole village with the most outrageous pranks. In the end, they met an untimely end by being ground at the village mill and fed to the miller's geese (!). Pretty cruel, isn't it, but times were different (and much rougher) in 1865. Or were they?

So I guess my photo features what you might call my "signature macro colours", this time not achieved by using my makeshift colour filters, but makeshift reflectors instead, a new addition (next to the gold-coated cardboard) being a pink chocolate wrapper tin foil. I'm very busy at the moment, so I decided to stay in my comfort zone and just try to get a decent photo for the theme so as not to skip once again. The final image is a single shot, processed in DXO PL7, Analog Efex, and Lightroom.

Size of what you see of Widow Tibbets/the teaspoon's handle: 2 cm/0,78 inches.

Happy Macro Monday, Everyone! I'll try to catch up with you tonight!

It's a sad day when you accidentally hit buy instead of demo when trying on new skins. Who needs four skins anyways?! Lucky for me The Skinnery has beautiful skins (phew).

Notes to self: 1) Pay attention, 2) Turn on your sound, 3) Did I mention, pay attention?

Clowning around in Photoshop with a clown puppet I found in a charity store.

HSS!

For Sliders Sunday.

Jane was posing a little this evening with some of the holiday stuff around. Behind her is a decorated Christmas tree and in front is a bowl with some ornaments. She has a UTI and isn't feeling so great, which I think explains the expression. I can usually get her to pose with a happier look, but she just really wants to snuggle and rest right now.

The only thing I did in Photoshop was the square crop.

This is an 8 shot stitch of 3 bracketed exposure/shot blended in Photomatix and assembled in PS. The master file is almost 95MP!

the place where dreams and hopes can be fulfilled.

So, that's what's next: Post-it notes. I have a few good ideas and hope to get through them before I head off to college next Wednesday. :)

Edit: Explore #7! Thanks guys!

The very bottom of last year's Christmas tree. Image taken in our in-door garden.

The clouds were insane!!! I've already posted an iPhone version ... finally getting around to the Nikon shots. I am amazed anew at the wonder & glory of Mother Nature. I love how the clouds and reflections meet up at the end of the pier.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday!! HCS!!

Today post obviously about climate change , just reminding of the reasons by Burning or cutting down trees reverses the effects of carbon sequestration and releases greenhouse gases (including carbon dioxide) into the atmosphere. Furthermore, deforestation changes the landscape and reflectivity of earth's surface, Global warming may increase the intensity and frequency of droughts in many areas, creating more intense and frequent wildfires.

Buddy was sad because I had to work. He sure knows how to make me feel guilty💔

and he's not happy.

This is a tiny copper sculpture (less than 2") wrapped in a length of pantyhose. Happy Macro Mondays/ HMM

Walking around the snow covered Grey Corries I immediately focused on what looked like a face ready to drop off into the glen below from the snow cornice (bottom of photo). He did look rather sad but no wonder..his time was soon gonna be up. Scotlands answer to Mount Rushmore. I sometimes see a resemblance to a face in clouds, trees or snow etc (maybe its just me) but this is perhaps one that really resembles a chiseled portrait. This is on the way upto Stob Coire na Ceannain.

I don't really take lots of pictures anymore. Sadface.

(Week 4)

I deleted the old one and reuploaded this because the texture thing was jarring my will to live

This picture didn't work out as planned :( and now on flickr it looks different, like the texture looks way more in your face *sadface*

OH WELL!

I sat in a cold shower with all my clothes on for this and tried to keep as still as I could for 10 seconds but yeah you're gonna have to live with it :)

Good day today, sun burn't on my arms though!

The saddest face I've ever seen on a river barge. It's moored securely but hasn't been free for years. It is gently tilting and declining while wild flowers and moss grow freely on it's old timbers.

Week 39.

Did you know that on average over a lifetime a person spends 98% of their time doing the dishes?

Helen, this completely accidental and naturally occurring bubble phenomenon is my submission to the "FACES IN PLACES" photo challenge.

1. I like the color green, thats not really random but thinking of random things is really hard, OKAY?

2. I like to talk in all caps cuz it makes me feel cool.. No really, it does, there is not much logic to talking in all caps other then it makes me feel cool cuz its like yelling. Oh i enjoy yelling. >___> wat.

3. I like the number three its my favorite number because I am the third child born to my mom and dad, and also three is the magic number.

4. I have an amazing four year old daughter named JulieAnn. She is autistic and it's a HUGE struggle.. I feel like I am not there enough for her like with working as much as I do.

5. I see people die sometimes everyday. It's hard, and makes you feel helpless.

6. I have a ghost living in my house. No like seriously. Doors open, cabinets open and other shit like that happens... I have been pushed and whispered too.. ITS SCARY.

7. I think I am a medium. It's true. I go ghost hunting with my friends a lot of times... they think its neat cuz i cause weird stuff to happen.

8. I used to pucker my lips when I was little because my mother had thin flat lips, now my lips are in a permenat duck pout. SADFACE.

9. I sometimes enjoy picking my nose and wiping the boogers in random places or flick them onto people, like family members and stuff, it's disgusting, really... but its FUN. wtf.

10. I am the daughter of a famous radio personality in southeastern Oklahoma... my dad has a crazy amazing voice... kids loved me in school for the fact I had a cool dad.

11. I tend to be a know it all because of my schooling and all that crap. I am too smart for my own good at times, and that is my downfall i guess, I am sometimes gullable.. and it comes off as retarded. >_<

12. I AM AFRAID OF FROGS. I hate frogs because when I was little my siblings used to put them in my diaper and point and laugh at me and call be Orphan bird and captian vienna sausage.. :(

13. I played with barbies until i was 17. that is quite fail.

14. I also sleep with a blanky. I used to like have this thing called a "pillow person." but I kinda stopped sleeping with the pillow person as it is too fragile to survive my rough sleepage.. Soo.. I got this blanket that is ghetto soft and fluffy... I have to cover my face with it at night, or the ghost i mentioned likes to play tricks on me.. its a magical blanket in my head.

15. I am 5'1" native american and irish.

16. I am also the great, great, great great great great someodd great grand daughter of Jefferson Davis, the president of the confederacy in teh 1800s! We have family documents and everything. woo south.

I know this is another memory picture and im sorry for that.

I can't stop thinking about my past and all the things/people that hurt me.

I took some chances back then and it ended badly.

I feel like my past experiences is keeping me from making certian choices now.

I look back at old photos and i dont even know the people in them anymore.

I need to forget the past and stop worrying.

Sorry for another one with me in it, I hate being the model for my own photos.

I feel i make them worse.
