This 2012 458 Ferrari Spider is down low and ready to go. This great looking modern supercar made an appearance at the KC Auto Museum Oddballs and Obscurities Car Show held in Olathe Kansas.
The 458 Spider is the hard-top convertible version of Ferrari's two-seat, mid-rear engine exotic sport coupe, the 458 Italia. Its retractable aluminum hard-top flips over to stow neatly upside-down beneath the rear deck lid, allowing occupants to better hear the incredible scream of the 458's high-revving V8 engine. The 458 Spider's 570-horsepower direct-injected 4.5-liter V8 engine sends power through 7-speed dual clutch transmission with F1-style steering column-mounted shift paddles that allow for extremely quick gear changes. The standard E-Diff3 is an electronic limited-slip rear differential that varies the distribution of torque based on inputs such as steering angle and lateral acceleration. Brembo brakes featuring carbon-ceramic material discs as standard. Magnetic fluid-filled shock absorbers react instantly to road conditions and driver inputs. A switch on the steering wheel, called a manettino, integrates suspension, traction control, stability control and shifter systems and allows the driver to choose the optimum setting for current conditions. The standard 6-disc CD/MP3 stereo features a 30-gigabyte hard drive and Bluetooth wireless connectivity. Options include carbon fiber interior and exterior trim, adaptive headlights, navigation system, premium JBL 1000-watt audio system, reverse camera, and front and rear parking sensors. A wide range of interior and exterior colors are available. The Ferrari 458 Spider was new in 2012.

The Alpine A110 is a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports car, designed by Deyan Denkov (exterior) and Laurent Negroni (interior), and introduced at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Deliveries began in late 2017 for Continental European markets and in 2018 for the UK, Japan and Australia
Built with an an all-aluminium construction, the A110 is powered by a 1.8-litre turbocharged gasoline direct injection 4 valves per cylinder inline-four engine mated to a 7-speed Getrag dual-clutch transmission. The engine was developed under a Nissan-Renault joint venture and reworked by Alpine. The A110 is available in three trims: Pure, Première, and Legende with all three sharing the same 249bhp powertrain and transmission.
The A110 was initially available in three trims: Pure, Première, and Legende. The Pure cars, the base trim, have 17-inch alloy wheels.
The Première trim cars are technically the launch edition models which were limited to 1,955 units, a reference to the founding year of the Alpine brand, and were equipped with amenities such as forged alloy wheels, quilted leather Sabelt bucket sports seats, a reversing camera, and metallic blue exterior colour as standard. Pre-orders for the special First Edition opened on 7 December 2016, Alpine says all units were booked in one weekend, with customers charged a deposit of 5,000 Euros, with Alpine stating that the price would come in between 55,000 and 60,000 Euro with deliveries from late 2017, in March 2017 it was confirmed that price would be 58,000 Euro
The Legende trim cars come with six-way adjustable sports seats, black or brown leather interior upholstery, and an upgraded hi-fi sound system along with specially designed wheels exclusive to this trim. All of the three trims share the same powertrain and transmission. From 2020 the The Pure trim level was replaced by the Alpine A110, with no other badging. The Légende was replaced by the Alpine A110 GT which employed the same engine as the A110 S.
The Alpine 110S was introduced in June 2019, is a high performance and lightweight variant of the A110. The A110S benefits from increased power output (from 252 to 292 PS (249 to 288 hp), from its 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine as well as stiffer springs, new anti-rollbars, dampers, and high performance brakes. The ride height slightly lowered and the car is fitted with special Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres having a stickier compound contributing to more grip on the tarmac. The engine was retuned and a larger turbocharger installed. The peak power is achieved at 1400 rpm higher than the standard engine. The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission remains unchanged. The new springs and anti-roll bars are respectively 50 and 100 percent stiffer than the standard car. The ESC system has also been retuned to improve handling and comes with a full-defeat mode Aesthetic changes include flag motifs, orange brake calipers and optional matte grey paintwork and lighter Fuchs alloy wheels. An optional carbon fibre roof with a gloss finish reduces 1.9 kg (4 lb) from the total weight of the car which is 1,114 kg

In response to SEAT setting a new record for a Front-wheel drive production car at the Nürburgring race track with the Leon Cupra 280 at 7:58.4, Renault developed the 275 Trophy-R to retake the title a few weeks after. With Laurent Hurgon driving, the record was reclaimed with a Nürburgring lap time of 7:54.36. The Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy-R features an Akrapovič titanium exhaust system increasing the power output to 271 bhp while the torque remained unchanged. Other changes include Öhlins dampers with Allevard composite coil springs and 19-inch Speedline Turini wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. A lithium battery results in additional weight saving of 16 kg. The front brakes are changed to a 350mm 2 piece floating rotor (up 10mm) while using the same calipers and rear brakes. On the interior, the sound deadening is removed, as well as the air conditioning, stereo, sat nav and back seats in place of which a rear brace is fitted in place. The front seats are Recaro - Pole Position - fixed polycarbonate bucket seats trimmed with leather and Alcantara with Sabelt race harness belts fitted. The total weight saving of all the changes amounts to a 101 kg (223 lb) loss, bringing kerb weight down to 1,280 kg (2,820 lb),

The Renault Clio is a supermini car, produced by the French automobile manufacturer Renault. It was launched in 1990, and was in its fourth generation in 2012. The Clio has had substantial critical and commercial success, being consistently one of Europe's top-selling cars since its launch, and it is largely credited with restoring Renault's reputation and stature after a difficult second half of the 1980s. The Clio is one of only two cars, the other being the Volkswagen Golf, to have been voted European Car of the Year twice, in 1991 and 2006.
Clio Williams
In 1993, Renault launched the Clio Williams as a limited edition of 3,800 cars (1,300 more than they needed for homologation purposes) with each car bearing a numbered plaque on the dash. These sold out so quickly that Renault ended up building 1,600 more.
After the first series, due to the demand, Renault built the Williams 2 and 3. Altogether Renault made 12,100 Clio Williams. But because a lot of new road cars were directly converted to race cars and when damaged replaced with another converted road car, the actual number of road cars is significantly lower.
The car was named after the then Renault-powered Formula One team WilliamsF1, though Williams had nothing to do with the design or engineering of this Clio. The modifications to the Clio 16S on which it was based were the work of Renault Sport, Renault's motorsport division. Nevertheless, this car had a Formula One link by being the sport's Safety Car in 1996.
The 2.0 L 16-valve straight-4 engine rated at 147 PS (108 kW) and a top speed of 215 km/h (134 mph) with performance-tuned ride and handling. Renault later released the Williams 2 and Williams 3 special editions, much to the chagrin of those owners who had been assured of the exclusivity of the "original" Williams. One common mistake people can make is thinking that the 2.0 16V (F7R) used in the Williams is simply a bored out 1.8 16V (F7P), whereas, in reality the large engine had different size valves, cams, stroked crank and engine oil cooler. Other differences between the Williams and the Clio 16S it is based on include a wider front track with wishbones similar, but not the same as Renault 19, wider Speedline alloys, uprated (JC5) gearbox, bespoke four-to-one manifold, firmer suspension, and some cosmetic differences on the exterior and interior.[citation needed]
The differences between the three versions of the Williams were largely a reflection of phase changes across the Clio range, e.g. the gradual addition of enhanced safety features and cosmetic variations. Other than this, the Williams 1 and 2 had no sunroof and were painted in 449 Sports Blue. The final Williams 3 was painted in a slightly brighter shade of blue (432 Monaco Blue) and finally gained a sunroof which had long been standard on virtually all previous Clios. The original Williams was the lightest of the three, lacking the electrics necessary for the sunroof or the mirrors, and was the only one to sport a metal plaque stating the build number.
Respected motoring journalists consistently rate the Williams as one of the very best hot hatches ever made, regardless of era. One of its many accolades was 6th place in Evo's Car Of The Decade feature in 2004.
The Renault Clio Williams was and still is a very popular rally car. The basic racing version (Gr.N) had racing suspension, different engine management and a more free flowing exhaust. Power output was around 165 PS (121 kW). Roll cage was made by Matter France. Bucket seats were made by Sabelt.
The Next step up was the Gr.A car, which was fitted with 16″ Speedline 2012 rims (with optional extractors), further improvements on suspension and more tuned engine producing between 205-220 PS. Front brakes were also uprated with 323mm discs and 4 pot Alcon brake calipers.
The final evolution was the Renault Clio Williams Maxi kit-car with wider arches and 17″ Speedline 2012 rims and improved Proflex suspension. Sodemo engine was further tuned to 250-265 PS.

A dream coming true, to see the legendary Lancia Delta S4 in person, and yes, this is a proper Group B rally Delta S4.
This was a seriously fast and powerful rallycar, that had a 1,8 litre 4 cylinder, that was both turbocharged and supercharged, to raise the power to minimum of 430 hp, but it could easily be raised to 550 hp, which made one of the most powerful Group B cars on the scene.
It is based on Mégane Renaultsport 230 F1 Team R26, but it is 123 kg (271 lb) lighter. Weight reduction is achieved via removal of rear seats and seat belts, passenger airbag and curtain airbags (the driver's airbag remains), climate control (air conditioning remains as standard), rear wash/wipe and heated rear window, front fog lamps, headlamp washers, radio/CD player, most of the soundproofing.
