I replaced my Konica Minolta X1 point and shoot camera stolen last June. This new one doesn't seem to be quite a sharp but I will keep working with it. This camera allowed me to take macros for years before I got a dSLR.

Seen at the Rula Bula Irish Restaurant and Pub (like the previous image of the plant out on the patio), another pleasure for the eyes. I like this Celtic pattern very much. There are two such metal plate signs decorating the ironwork fence for the restaurant. The other is brown and gold. The light hit this decorative plate just right for the rich colors to show.
If you go to the website for the Irish restaurant, there is a photo gallery with several other images with this same horse motif. I found there is even a flickr photostream of St. Patrick's Day images from this restaurant, here. I wonder of the significance of this pattern.
As tradition with flickr meetups where there may be food and drink, we all took photos of my order at Rula Bula in Tempe, Arizona. This Irish restaurant is superb and not-to-be-missed on a trip to downtown Tempe if you enjoy "comfort food" done well. Oh yes, the previous photos also show a nice little drink selection we enjoyed (grin!). I bet the waitress does not often serve folks who are intent on the photographing before one bite is taken, ha ha! My special Christmas this year was the wonderful companionship of friends over the last few days. What a joy to share good times together. Thank you so much L and Thomas for a grand afternoon outing.
Rula Bula = "Taken from the Irish Gaelic language expression "rí rá agus ruaille buaille" it translates to "uproar and commotion" in the context of a celebratory and fun time. We phoneticized the expression into Rúla Búla to simplify pronunciation in English. We felt Rúla Búla was an appropriate selection for the upbeat, fun image the City of Tempe portrays." I've been photographing so many rocks, specimens from the Tucson Rock and Gem Show, the great Arizona landscapes and plants, that I wanted to show something different tonight. This is the outdoor patio lighting of the Rula Bula restaurant in Tempe, Arizona. This was taken in January, on a night that a friend and I enjoyed a magnificent Irish home-cooked meal. Even in Arizona, I can find my home many places.
I've got the Newcastle (on the left), Tom has the Stella and Laurie is in the background as part of the DoF. We had a great afternoon with a meetup and photo stroll in Tempe this afternoon. This photo was taken at my favorite restaurant in "the Valley", Rula Bula.
For my friends in the Midwest and out East in the US that are getting socked in by snow or wondering when the winter will be kinder...
This image shows several plants in a large pot out on the patio of my favorite Irish restaurant. Rula Bula is definitely the place to go in Tempe, Arizona - wonderful to have lunch on the patio this week. Yeah, I know some of you don't necessarily want to hear this detail at the moment, LOL.
