Falkenstein is a romantic little wine village in Lower Austria (Austria) near the border with the Czech Republic. The sky over the castle ruins has been tinted a dusty orange colour after a storm blew sand from the Sahara desert across Austria. A very special sunset.

On a tour of Belfast in Northern Ireland we saw these lovely medieval ruins of Dunluce Castle in County Antrim.
The impressive ruins of Laugharne Castle (Welsh: Castell Talacharn) dominate the landscape standing beside the estuary of the River Taf in Carmarthenshire.
Now 900 years since the original castle was built on this site in 1116 (Wikipedia). It has since been the site of several battles, been destroyed and rebuilt and changed hands from time to time as a result. It was transformed from an original earthwork to become a Tudor mansion and is now one of the most substantial castle remains in Wales.
The Salted Ruins, inspired by the beauty of Sri Lanka, will be opening to Members of Elysion for a summer photography challenge on August 26th!
