With this wideangle photo of the Royal Cresent in Bath I waited for the gap in the clouds to fall on the centre of the Cresent, feeling symmetry was appropriate for the formal architecture.
'The best known of Bath's terraces is the Royal Crescent, built between 1767 and 1774 and designed by the younger John Wood. But all is not what it seems; while Wood designed the great curved façade of what appears to be about 30 houses with Ionic columns on a rusticated ground floor, that was the extent of his input. Each purchaser bought a certain length of the façade, and then employed their own architect to build a house to their own specifications behind it; hence what appears to be two houses is sometimes one.
This system of town planning is betrayed at the rear of the crescent: while the front is completely uniform and symmetrical, the rear is a mixture of differing roof heights, juxtapositions and fenestration. This "Queen Anne fronts and Mary-Anne backs" architecture occurs repeatedly in Bath.' (Source : Wikipedia)
I Recommend You View Huge On Black
This is the world famous Royal Cresent in the city of Bath, UK. I have been Bath many times but have never taken my camera. This is the one shot i definitely wanted. I manually stitched this 4 photo panoramic together in Photoshop and i have only alter the contrast in this photo.

All metal construction in a soft, black carrying case. A no-nonsense machine with a smart red logo. The Royal Crescent is nearly identical to the Royal El Dorado, but is of a regular, rather than "deluxe", style. As far as I can tell, that means it's not shiny and has a tab release function.
For sale soon to members in the Vintage section of the Letter Writers Alliance shop.
More georgian architecture in Bath, designed by John Wood the Younger. They say it is one of the greatest examples of georgian architecture in the UK.
Some British roses at the end of their bloom with some of the pillars in the Royal Cresent in Bath in the background.
You can see other images from the UK in my United kingdom set.
You could watch this Large On Black since that brings out more details. My pictures aren't balanced for a white background.
