Ein Tag in Rom! Mit der Bahn sind wir von San Vincenzo gegen sechs Uhr am Morgen nach Rom gefahren und am Abend wieder zurück. Ein anstrengender Tag an dem wir auch das Forum Romanum besucht haben. Auf der Rückfahrt nach San Vincenzo hielt unser Zug im Bahnhof Vatikan Stadt fast vier Stunden. Den Grund für den langen Aufenthalt in der Station haben wir nicht erfahren.

A day in Rome! We took the train from San Vincenzo to Rome around six in the morning and back in the evening. A strenuous day on which we also visited the Forum Romanum. On the way back to San Vincenzo our train stopped at Vatican City station for almost four hours. We did not find out the reason for the long stay in the station.

Une journée à Rome ! Nous avons pris le train de San Vincenzo à Rome vers six heures du matin et sommes revenus le soir. Une journée éprouvante au cours de laquelle nous avons également visité le Forum Romanum. Sur le chemin du retour vers San Vincenzo, notre train s'est arrêté à la gare du Vatican pendant près de quatre heures. Nous n'avons pas trouvé la raison de ce long séjour dans la station.

... dai vetri soffiati del Palazzo Nuovo si intravvedono parte del Palazzo dei Conservatori, la chiesa dell'Ara Coeli e un'ala del Vittoriano con la grande scultura bronzea della Vittoria.

Roma città aperta.
Il celebre film di Roberto Rossellini è qui commemorato, sulle sponde del Tevere, nella sua scena saliente, attraverso una delle opere di William Kentridge , artista che, agendo mediante la pulitura parziale della patina biologica, che riveste gli argini del Tevere da Ponte Sisto a ponte Mazzini, ha, per una lunghezza di 550 metri, rappresentato i trionfi e le sconfitte di Roma.
L'opera, per essere apprezzata nel suo insieme, va guardata dalla sponda opposta del fiume, ma per cogliere l'interessante tecnica, con cui essa è stata realizzata è opportuno soffermarsi nei suoi pressi e verificare da vicino gli effetti grafici dovuti all'avvenuta pulitura della patina, per realizzare lo sfondo e al suo mantenimento, per dare luogo al disegno.
