The Lilac-breasted Roller is justly famous for its beautiful combination of colours. An image of one by photographer Johan Swanepoel graces the cover of a reference of mine “The Handbook of Bird Families” written by Jonathan Elphick.

Although I sometimes use Velcro rollers for volume at home I am not a fan of students using them on me . Velcro rollers are great because they grip but when it comes to taking them out then they tangle your hair and the ends go frizzy . I spoke to the lecturer about it this morning and it won't be happening to me again .
Status quo, for me, at least. Everyone should get their hair set in tight curlers, everynight, a different wetset. How about you?

Big brush rollers, with the brushes removed, with big blue sleepclamps and a blue net. A different wetset every evening for over 25 years. I love my rollers and the feeling of being tightly set.
The Lilac-Breasted Roller (Coracias caudatus) is an African member of the roller family of birds. It is widely distributed in sub-Saharan Africa and the southern Arabian Peninsula, preferring open woodland and savanna; it is largely absent from treeless places. Usually found alone or in pairs, it perches conspicuously at the tops of trees, poles or other high vantage points from where it can spot insects, lizards, scorpions, snails, small birds and rodents moving about at ground level.
Nesting takes place in a natural hole in a tree where a clutch two to four eggs is laid, and incubated by both parents, who are extremely aggressive in defense of their nest, taking on raptors and other birds. During the breeding season the male will rise to great heights, descending in swoops and dives, while uttering harsh, discordant cries.
This species is unofficially considered the national bird of Kenya.

This was quite far from me and I have cropped the picture and touched it up a little.I went nearer to get a better shot and found myself sinking into quicksand. My daughter ran across from the car to me and grabbed the camera while I continued floundering and sinking deeper. My husband tried to get a footing.I finally emerged out on solid ground with his help... But I think it was one heck of a Sunday random road trip
Finding British Airways Boeing 777 fleet at London Heathrow has been somewhat easy, the examples based at London Gatwick have proven trickier to find since they hardly ever transfer over to London Heathrow (apart from a very few number of examples), normally only for maintenance.
As British Airways continue to ramp up long-haul flights from London Gatwick, the company transferred 2 of the late batch of Boeing 777-200ER's to be permanently based at London Gatwick in 2013. These are G-YMMR/S which was part of a batch of 4 Boeing 777-200ER's that were delivered to British Airways in 2009. Two more Rolls-Royce Boeing 777's transferred in 2016 as British Airways continued to ramp up long-haul flying from London Gatwick as they can fly further unlike the General Electric examples which are range restricted.
One long-haul flight from London Gatwick which utilises the Rolls-Royce Boeing 777-200ER's is from Lima, Peru. BA2238/2239 operates thrice weekly on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday only. The service was supposed to operate during the Winter however that has been cancelled to now operate only the Summer only. The previous plan was between 29th October 2017 to 24th March 2018, BA2238/2239 was supposed to operate twice weekly from Wednesday and Sunday only but has since been cancelled. Flights between London Gatwick and Peru should restart on 28th March 2018.
Currently, British Airways operates 58 Boeing 777's, which includes 3 Boeing 777-200's, 43 Boeing 777-200ER's and 12 Boeing 777-300ER's.
Yankee Mike Mike Romeo is one of 43 Boeing 777-200ER's in service with British Airways, delivered new to the flag-carrier in March 2009 and she is powered by 2 Rolls-Royce Trent 895 engines.

I learned what I had hoped to be true -- that a fast shutter speed could capture emotions that one would never see in real life because the coaster is moving too fast.
Now the oldest vehicle in the Kent fleet, ARRIVA Kent Thameside 3238 P238 MKN is seen seen storming up Wellfield, Hartley whilst working route 423. Thursday 9th April 2015.
The only other vehicles in service from this batch in the south east are former Northfleet resident 3228 which has recently been reinstated at Guildford and one of the batch originally delivered to Kentish Bus, 3191 which can currently be found across the river in Essex working out of Southend.
