My Rolex Oyster "Pioneer", is a very rare model made in 1942 and was much favoured by Canadian and American pilots coming to Europe at the beginning of World War II...They were regarded as medium size watch (about the same size as child's watch nowadays.) and very small compared with todays Rolex models...Regardless, mine has a beautiful aged look with the added bonus of the 24 hour face, mine keeps perfect time, which is what you fully expect from a Rolex regardless of it's age...Mine's is a joy to wear and l keep finding myself looking at it wondering what kind of history it may hold.

The only draw back with them, (including mine.) is that they aren't very waterproof and have to be removed any time you go near water...or even if you look at water...Mine refuses point blank to go out in the rain nowadays :-)

ps. I'm having a bit of a "cull" of so called "friends" later...so if you don't see any of my shots soon going down the line, you will understand why...but it was nice to have met you.

Thank you & Bye :-)

It all started 2 years ago, when I got my hands on the new, back then, huge technic gears. It wasn't long before I realised that they would make a perfect bezel on a huge lego watch!

My favorite watch design was always the iconic Rolex Cosmograph Daytona so I was definitely going for that!

Couple of months after I created it, November of 2017, TLG asked AFOLs through the LAN for ready to go, large mocs that can depict exact time (13:58) for displaying them in a secret event at the time in The Lego House. Instantly I applied and it got accepted with other 7 mocs around the world.

Finally on 28/01/2018 the event took place and it was for the 60 years anniversary from the exact time that the 2x4 lego brick got patented!

After this significant event I decided to take it a step further and create a proper watch box to embrace it! I'm a woodworker so I was going for something special. The leather interior was not something I had tried before but I'm pleased with the result!

The Rolex Learning Centre ("EPFL Learning Centre") is the campus hub and library for the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), in Lausanne, Switzerland. Designed by the winners of 2010 Pritzker Prize, Japanese-duo SANAA, it opened on 22 February 2010.

Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, partners of the Tokyo-based design firm SANAA, were selected as the lead architects in EPFL's international competition of December 2004. The team was selected among famous architects and even some Pritzker Prize Laureates such as Zaha Hadid, Rem Koolhaas, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Jean Nouvel, Herzog & de Meuron, Ábalos & Herreros and Xaveer De Geyter.

The construction took place between 2007 and 2009. It cost 110 million Swiss francs and was funded by the Swiss government as well as by private sponsors (Rolex, Logitech, Bouygues Construction, Crédit Suisse, Nestlé, Novartis and SICPA).
