Die Ostwand des Watzmanns erstreckt sich über eine Höhe von 1.800 Metern vom Königssee bis zum Gipfel der Watzmann Südspitze. Damit ist sie die längste durchgehende Felswand der Ostalpen, früher galt sie sogar als längste komplett durchkletterte Felswand der gesamten Alpen.
