Cumbres and Toltec RR, Engine 489, K-36 Class, at the first crossing heading to Cumbres. I edited it in HDR, a little unusual for me but I liked the look. It is said that a "proper" steam train photograph is taken when the rods are in the down position. And so it is.... :)

Across the channel, a ribbon of campfire smoke escapes through the trees.
Fort Langley is a village community forming part of the Township of Langley in British Columbia, Canada. It has a population of 3,400. It is the home of Fort Langley National Historic Site, a former fur trade post of the Hudson's Bay Company. Lying on the Fraser River, Fort Langley is at the northern edge of the Township of Langley. Rödlus
Rödlus (Corizus hyoscyami) har röd mitt, skutell, på ryggtriangeln. Den har en halssköld med två svarta sidofläckar och svarta rektanglar på vingarna.
Rödlusen är snarlik både eldlus och främst riddarbagge, men den uppträder alltid enstaka, aldrig i stora mängder. Den fullbildade rödlusen är också lite hårig vilket inte riddarbaggen är.
Rödlöss suger växtsaft från mogna frön av allehanda växter, även om den föredrar korgblomsväxter.

Terwijl over twee dagen alweer het volgende bezoek aan het Maintal voor de deur staat, heb ik nog een handje vol foto's over van het vorige tripje wat plaatsvond in juli vorig jaar. De avond van 21 juli was toch wel de meest succesvolle van de reeks avonden in Thüngersheim, echter heb ik van deze twee uurtjes pas twee foto's online staan dus is het hoog tijd om een derde exemplaar te tonen.
Deze avond was zoals gewoonlijk weer de Paneuropa / Terratrans KLV van Lokomotion onderweg richting Bremen Grolland. Inmiddels is dit de laatste trein die Lokomotion zelfstandig diep Duitsland in rijdt, want voor de overige treinen houdt het vanuit Oostenrijk meestal rond München op en is het bijna altijd DB Cargo die het stokje overneemt. De avond hiervoor konden we deze trein vastleggen met de toch wel bijzondere Cream 189 912 van Lokomotion, welke al vooraf aangekondigd was. Deze avond was de tractie echter niet bekend en dus was het een verrassing wat er rond 20:00 voor de trein zou hangen. In het meest standaard scenario was het een BR185 die de trein mocht verzekeren, maar de laatste dagen waren er ook al een aantal 193'ers voor de trein aangetroffen dus niks was zeker. Maar zoals toch wel verwacht was het een 185'er die voor de trein hing, wat ik zelf zeker niet erg vond aangezien ik van deze exemplaren ook nog geen goede foto had.
Het is 20:01 als in heerlijk avondlicht de lekker schone Lokomotion 185 661 de groep Nederlands te Thüngersheim passeert met Paneuropa / Terratrans intermodaal 43820 vanuit Verona Quadrante Europa naar Bremen Grolland. De volgende avond reed de trein wel weer met een 193´er en zelfs met rode zebrastrepen maar helaas had de trein deze keer teveel vertraging waardoor deze pas in het donker wist te passeren...
