After an autumn and early winter full of atmospheric rivers, blizzards, and copious amounts of moisture, the weather in the Foothills has become nonexistent. We've now gone 33 straight days without rain and the number would be in the 60s if it weren't for a minor little sprinkle we received in late January. It's hard to imagine a January and February without rain and snow. This is the winter that never showed up. As you can see from the pic--it makes for awful pretty days. But really Ma Nature--bring on the rain already.

Sorry everyone. I had major computer problems, but am up and working again. I also got a new lens for my birthday. The Nikkor AF-P10-20 mm for taking landscape shots. This is on of the photos. I will be posting more. I really like it. I will also be catching up on my comments.
Rockwall Lake is as big as beautiful. When I was walking to the lake from the parking lot, I felt like I was in Cancun for a second. I guess because of the colors. Texas is an amazing place to see.

CSXT 4751 makes an unusual appearance on Union Pacific rails as it rounds the curve into Eureka, Missouri, leading GSXBBD-15. Flying west across the UP Jefferson City Subdivision, it wouldn’t take long for the grainer to reach Jefferson City. (Peep the original small letter nose door)
Known as the "Niagara of the South," the 125-foot wide curtain of water is dramatic day or night. But it's only at night during a full moon that you can see the moonbow, a phenomenon not found anywhere else in the Western Hemisphere.

Long exposure using the following test rig: Sony A7Rii with Nikkor 16-35 f4 and Fotodiox Adapter with Nisi V5-Pro 100mm filter holder and Nisi 10stop ND1000 Nano IR ND filter. There was a hard wind and it resulted in some reduced sharpness when pixel peeping at 100%. I tried holding down the tripod and then rain suddenly started and I had to run for shelter fast!
After I drove home, soaking wet, the sun came out and the clouds broke and light was perfect, except I wasn't there anymore :)

I haven't built anything in 2 and a half years, so it's a good feeling to pick up the bricks again. Hopefully this summer I might actually have some time, but who knows. Real life sucks y'all :/
Anyway, my photo-editing skills are still terrible and my camera is now six years old. About time for an upgrade I suppose. Here's the actual MOC description:

W933 on a Pichi Richi Railway special from Quorn too Woolshed Flat rounds the rockwall embankment on 26-4-1997
Long exposure using the following test rig: Sony A7Rii with Nikkor 16-35 f4 and Fotodiox Adapter with Nisi V5-Pro 100mm filter holder and Nisi 10stop ND1000 Nano IR ND filter. There is a pool to the left and right of the path but the long exposure didn't really create the effect I was after. Still a good learning experience and great fun!
