Occasionally I come across such structures on the beach. It's called rock balancing, apparently, and I'm amazed by the people who spend time in this meditative activity. Looks like it would be fun to try, but my preference is always to keep a steady walking pace and so I've never tried it.
A good day of rock balancing outside my place was rewarded by the appearance of two Canada Geese gracefully gliding through the water.

The post is always there but the 9 rocks balanced on the top are not. I wish I could claim credit for this masterpiece of rock balancing but I can’t. I watched from our window whilst a man on the beach took around an hour to build this. When I went out to ask i him if I could take a photo, it turned out he was from Liverpool and he’d been perfecting his craft and teaching others for over four years. We were hoping that the sun would appear central to the hole before it set, but sadly the elevation on this evening was all wrong. It still looked quite spectacular all the same. It seemed as shame to see it being dismantled but seemingly he always puts things back has he finds them on the beach before he leaves, mainly for safety reasons should the rocks fall on anyone.
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
The light was actually quite bright yesterday behind the stones , so the best I got was a silhouette until I set the exposure to +3 to highlight them, which it did, and bleached out the sky too!
Rock balancing (or stone stacking, as some may call it) is an art, discipline, or hobby in which rocks are naturally balanced on top of one another in various positions. Adhesives, wires, supports, or rings are not permitted.
Rock balancing can be a performance art, a spectacle, or a devotion, depending upon the interpretation by its audience. Essentially, it involves placing some combination of rock or stone in arrangements which require patience and sensitivity to generate, and which appear to be physically impossible while actually being only highly improbable. The rock balancer may work for free or for pay, as an individual or in a group, and their intents and the audiences' interpretations may vary given the situation or the venue.

There were a number of these stone balancing sculptures on the beach, this was a quite simple one compared to the “impossible” ones done by Adrian Gray, a local artist.

A rare departure for me, I ventured into the digital world to make a photo for Macro Mondays. The theme is balance, a concept that resonates with me. Thanks to Pierre for letting me use his camera and lens. HMM

Lately, I'm like Alice in Wonderland's white rabbit: "Oh, dear! Oh, dear! I shall be too late!"... I am finding it very difficult to post photos right now. Obligations (work and family) leave me little time. It will be a matter of finding balance or organizing myself better.
I will try to catch up on all the notificactions from groups and your comments.
