The "Cherry Blossom" was built in Palatka, Florida -1984. She's an authentic split sternwheeler and a re-creation of a 19th century Victorian riverboat. She's docked here in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia and offers tours of the Potomac around Washington, D.C.

"Mark Twain riverboat burns biodiesel fuel in its boiler, heating water into steam, which is routed to two pistons that turn the paddlewheel. Spent exhaust is then routed back to the boiler. The riverboat is guided through the Rivers of America via an I-beam track, which is hidden beneath the green and brown dyed water."
The Quiet Canal and the Boat Waiting for Spring
Soon the Korana will breathe a warmer breeze again, but today — in this quiet black-and-white winter moment — a small riverboat rests peacefully in a narrow canal. Snow lies across it like a soft blanket, while the branches around whisper about passing days.
Everything feels paused, as if winter is holding its breath… waiting for the moment when the river rises again and this little guardian of the Korana can glide back into its familiar flow.
There is a special beauty in winter’s silence — gentle, humble, and full of quiet hope.
Tišina kanala i čamac što čeka proljeće
Uskoro će Korana ponovno poteći toplijim dahom, ali danas — u ovoj tihoj crno-bijeloj zimskoj sceni — mali koranski čamac mirno spava u uskom kanalu. Snijeg ga je prekrio poput pokrivača, a granje oko njega šapuće o danima koji prolaze.
Sve izgleda zaustavljeno, kao da zima drži dah… i samo čeka trenutak kad će se voda proliti preko obala, kad će ovaj mali čuvar rijeke opet kliznuti niz svoje poznate tokove.
U tišini zime krije se neka posebna ljepota — nježna, skromna i puna nade.
