Just got back from yet another trip to the Lake District. Not many photos taken due to inclement weather (putting it mildly) but here's one from April last year. I must have found a handy rock as this is in high resolution mode.

We had collected the equipment and were heading to the cars, but a change in color and clouds did not encourage us to take out the cameras again.
My resolution is to begin my revolution of love. If you ever attended attitude owned by vincent borsuk you know we were hinting at new things coming. Today I layed the first stone to that revolution. If you have been held down by bullies or saw your talent held back because other's attacked you help is coming. The revolution of love.

Cleo has been very lazy during the holidays but now it's time to resume our normal life. According to Cleo there is nothing "normal" about a fitness training, though, and I seriously doubt that physical activity has played any major role in her New Year's resolutions, apart - maybe - from the resolution to avoid it whenever she can. You can't let a human have the last say after all.

2023 was not a great year for me and I am sad to report that it has been 8 months since I even picked up my camera. It hardly ever left my side before, like an extension of my own eyes, but PTSD swallowed me whole and I had lost all inspiration.
My New Year's Resolution, to myself, is to make friends with my camera once again. I don't know what direction that will take other than I want to get to know her again and put her to use doing what Canon intended.
Your support through such a difficult year has been a real lifeline and I do not say so lightly. Thank you all so very much, from the depths of my heart, and I hope that I can eventually repay you all with new work to share.
My warmest wishes to you for 2024 my Flickr friends. The world has gone completely crazy and looks set to continue on that path but know that I will be there with you. Sharing my photography and, more importantly, enjoying the work and words that you share and letting you know that I am thrilled to be on that journey with you.

Perfect fall day on Northerly Island in Chicago. I rode my bike out there to look for changing leaves, and most of them hadn't changed much yet so I was about to give up when I spotted these two.
(These had previously been uploaded at accidentally low resolution, so I reprocessed them and these are full resolution.)
Eucalyptus deglupta is a species of tall tree, commonly known as the rainbow eucalyptus, Mindanao gum, or rainbow gum that is native to the Philippines, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. It is the only Eucalyptus species that usually lives in rainforest, with a natural range that extends into the Northern Hemisphere. It is characterized by multi-coloured bark.
Eucalyptus deglupta is a fast-growing tree that typically reaches a height of 60–78 m (197–256 ft) with the trunk up to 240 cm (94 in) in diameter and with buttresses up to 4 m (13 ft) high. It has smooth, orange-tinted bark that sheds in strips, revealing streaks of pale green, red, orange, grey, and purplish brown.

I couldn't help but throw in a little pareidolia, courtesy of the two resolution charts, the centerpoint marker, and the black box used as an aid in detecting travel ghost (streaking that occurs when the shutter is improperly timed with the intermittent movement or damaged, or as a result of mechanical wear).
Only a few photographers were looking for the best perspective onto the misty plateau that morning. Who found the best spot?
