Milepost 97 shows that 4-REP No. 2004 has 97 miles to run to its destination with the 0951 Weymouth to Waterloo service in the spring of 1987.
As it had since 1967, the 3,300hp 4-REP electric unit is towing a further 8 coaches of unpowered trailer stock. These 8 coaches had been propelled to Bournemouth on the non-electrified line from Weymouth by a class 33/1 locomotive, where the 4-REP had taken over for the journey to London.
The castellated structure on the horizon is a water tower: it is a local landmark: opened by the West Hampshire Water Company in 1900, the 25m high mock Tudor design still dominates views of the town.
Znojmo is a major town in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic, the administrative capital of the Znojmo District. The town is situated on a rock outcropping on the steep left bank of the Thaya River.

Somehow this reminds me the quote by Stalin which was left on the wall of the military academy in Moscow in the 30's. yandex.ru/maps/-/CCUGfUVd0A The translation of his quote is:
"A single inch of someone else's land we do not want, but not a single piece of our land, we will not give our land to anyone". You might think i translated it wrong but i tried to keep his original style. Stalin's native language was Georgian, he spoke Russian with the accent 'till the end of his days. Also (because of the low level of his education eventually) he wasn't a really good speaker. So he wrote this line with a strong stylistical flaw but no one dared to redact it or give him an advise.
PS Should i mention Stalin wrote this line just a few years before Molotov-Ribbentrop pact.
