Le più famose dell’Alto Adige sono le Piramidi di Terra del Renon, le più alte e più belle nella loro forma di tutta l’Europa. Inoltre, sull’Altipiano del Renon, troviamo questo fenomeno in ben tre posti differenti: nella valle di Rio Rivellone a Soprabolzano, nella valletta del Rio Fosco tra Longomoso e Monte di Mezzo ed anche ad Auna di Sotto, nelle vicinanze del Rio Castro.

Longomoso, il centro culturale del Renon, grazie alla commenda dove hanno luogo innumerevoli manifestazioni come concerti o mostre.
Lengmoos is considered to be the cultural centre on the Ritten plateau.
Seit 1907 verbindet die Rittner Bahn (italienisch "Ferrovia del Renon") Bozen mit mehreren Gemeinden auf dem Hochplateau des Ritten. Während der Stadtbahnabschnitt in Bozen und die Zahnradstrecke von Bozen nach Maria Himmelfahrt 1966 stillgelegt und durch eine Seilbahn ersetzt wurden, wird die Überlandtrasse auf dem Ritten zwischen Maria Himmelfahrt und Klobenstein bis heute zuverlässig befahren. In Oberbozen besteht Anschluss an die Seilbahn, welche die Fahrgäste binnen 12 Minuten in die Landeshauptstadt Südtirols befördert.
An einem wettertechnisch sehr wechselhaften Septemberabend hat BDe 4/8 Nr. 23 gerade den kleinen Haltepunkt Weidacher passiert und kullert nun in den letzten Sonnenstrahlen des Tages in Richtung Oberbozen und Maria Himmelfahrt. Im Hintergrund erheben sich die majestätisch anmutenden Felshänge des 2563 Meter hohen Schlern.

Since 1907, the Ritten railway (Italian: "Ferrovia del Renon") connects Bolzano with several communities on the high plateau of the Ritten. While the light railway section in Bolzano and the rack railway from Bolzano to Maria Himmelfahrt were closed down in 1966 and replaced by a cable car, the overland route on the Ritten between Maria Himmelfahrt and Klobenstein is still reliably used today. In Oberbozen there is a connection to the cable car, which transports passengers to the capital of South Tyrol within 12 minutes.
On a very changeable September evening, BDe 4/8 No. 23 has just passed the small Weidacher stop and is now rolling towards Oberbozen and Maria Himmelfahrt in the last rays of sunshine of the day. The majestic rocky slopes of the 2563-metre-high Schlern rise in the background.

Longostagno sull'Altipiano del Renon
Longostagno (972 m) è un piccolo e grazioso paesino sull'Altipiano del Renon in Alto Adige che si raggiunge continuando la strada che da Longomoso conduce Monte di Mezzo ed è collegato a Collalbo da una linea di autobus.
Al centro di Longostagno si trova la chiesetta dedicata a Sant'Ottilia, nota dal 1177 e più volte restaurata fino a quando, nel 1867, perse il suo aspetto. Della vecchia costruzione rimane praticamente solo la scultura dedicata a Santa Ottilia che sovrasta il portale, risalente al 1480 ca.
Nei boschi dei dintorni si trova uno spiazzo chiamato "Piano delle Streghe", oggi meta di pic-nic ma un tempo, almeno stando alla leggenda, luogo di raduno delle terribili megere.

Europe’s tallest and most perfectly shaped earth pyramids are to be found on the Renon mountain in several locations: in the gorge of the Finsterbach creek between Longomoso and Monte di Mezzo, in the Katzenbach-creek gorge below Soprabolzano, and in the gorge of Gasters in Auna di Sotto. Earth pyramids consist of cone-shaped pillars formed by deposited clay and a boulder on top - they often form rather bizarre shapes, and tend to be shrouded in mystery.
