(Hotel) Room With A View (Atlantic Ocean At Fort Lauderdale Beach) - IMRANâą
(Full view, which one is better for such a situation, this or www.flickr.com/photos/imrananwar/50815769522/in/dateposte... ?)
I love to travel, and that includes traveling for work. If my team meetings happen to be at a resort hotel on the Atlantic Ocean beach in Florida, what is there to not like. If they also happen to be in the middle of winter, then what is there not to love! This is actually a panorama photo created from three separate iPhone 11 Pro Max photos taken in my room at the Sonesta in Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida last winter.
The pandemic messed up all of that routine stuff in 2020. Thankfully, technology allows many of us to still continue to work from wherever we are.
Hopefully, with a return to normalcy in politics, business society, and business we can all travel again, and be in rooms with people we enjoy without a pandemic wreaking havoc on all that was normal.

Day 12 of #inktober - prompt: Remote
Remote has become mainstream with remote working imposed by the pandemic, and it has remained in the working habits of many people. Certainly in the EU administration where I work. When this way of working exploded I used an illustration based on The Little Prince by Saint ExupĂ©ry to show and explain that remote work also means being alone on your planet with its volcanoes, its flowers and its rose. And that you have to be well aware of it to take care of your physical and especially mental health. For todayâs prompt I copied my illustration by applying the method of the continuous line that I impose on myself for this edition of inktober. I hope you enjoy it.

She SEA (Sea Series) - SelfPortrait Artist, Innovator since 13 Years Old . Years Active : 2005 - present
Early May 2020: the authorities strongly suggested that those who could work from home, should do so.
My wife was an "early adopter" and was quick to establish a "home office."
Due to my line of work, I could unfortunately not "harvest the benefits" of that, but worked weird shifts and long hours in order to be able to be home too, to the extent possible.
Now, almost three years later, "hybrid working" is a well working concept at many workplaces so she's at the home office a couple of days a week.
For me, remote work is not possible, so I've figured out my own "hybrid" work model: as little as possible and strategically planning hard to get fired.
Unfortunately, my bosses are not exactly keen on the latter.

Remote work is a working style that allows professionals to work outside of a traditional office environment. It is based on the concept that work does not need to be done in a specific place to be executed successfully.
Adapting to a pandemic has ushered in a brave new world of being forcibly confined to our home offices
Remote work does save travel time and and a host of other debatable advantages.
For those of us who optimize our soft skills with in person meets with clients and work colleagues, studies indicate that the majority of workers look forward to shelving the predominance of I in remote and benefitting from the WE in team

The fourth image in this EF135/2L series was a selfportrait captured this morning when I was working from home for my client, a danish energy company.
MS Teams seems to be the most important tool these days ...
This images is captured with the Canon EOS R5 on my tripod using the built-in timer. I tried the Eye-AF/Face-detect, but that didn't work, probably because of the timer-function. Next time I better use my trustworthy PocketWizard triggers to include Eye-AF ....
With this time I went for a black'n'white look in Capture One Pro using the Tri-X style kit from Mastin Labs.

Elon Musk - Another Laughable "Moral Authority" Figures - IMRANâą
Yes, the Nazi-enabling fascism-loving rich-boy is another of the hypocrite self-appointed moral authorities these days. Elon Musk claims working from home is morally wrong. What dp you think of that?

Another self-portrait of me working for danish clients in my new office/studio in Tuscany, Italy. That's new only positive outcome of Covid-19 - that's clients has become aware that you can be just as effective, when working remote.
Shot wide open the EF 135/2L on the trusty EOS R5. Manual focus and triggered remotely with PocketWizard Plus III.
Completed in Capture One Pro and colour graded with Mastin Labs Tri-X style kit.

During the pandemic, I taught a number of online workshops, and took part in several online origami meetings. They were all very nice, but each seemed to lack an essential component: the ability to stroll around and talk to random people. Even with multiple zoom rooms, such online meetings always seemed to lack the spontaneity of a face-to-face meeting.
Enter the OrigamiUSA Convention 2021 which employed a new tool, called Gather. It works from within your browser and is, essentially, a multiplayer action RPG game. You see the surroundings in a top-down view and can interact with it and other players. When your character walks close enough to another personâs avatar, you can use audio and video to talk to each other. You can talk among multiple characters who are within reach as well. Of course, you can also temporarily disable audio and/or video for privacy.
During the convention, we experienced the app becoming unstable and disconnecting participants. People also complained about not being able to use the camera when running on an iPad. Hopefully, such issues can be sorted out as the product matures.
While at first I was rather skeptical of the whole idea of simulating a convention in the form of a game, I quickly found out that it worked very well. Since connections are set up automatically when two peoplesâ avatars come close, the burden of setting up a connection is reduced to nil. Due to the way distance affects audio in the game, just like in real life you can talk in small groups, but you wonât run in the problem of having dozens of people talking at the same time. Overall, this is the best simulation of a real-life meeting I have run into so far, and it really made the convention stand out from the rest. Since this was my first time at an American convention, I got to meet many people who donât usually come to European conventions, and whom I would not be able to meet if the convention used a more traditional format. At conventions I attended live, I always found freefolding and chatting with people in the time between workshops to be the best part, and this one was no exception.
