These huge bales of straw remind me of enormous cotton reels, made from golden thread. And one day they'll be gone, because the giants will have come to collect them to spin into great cloaks of gold..... well, OK, I'm dreaming again ! But it would be lovely if that were the case. Instead, they're used for feeding cattle and making them bedding for the winter.
Taken in a field not too far from home, and processed using PicMonkey and Topaz Impression 2, finished in Topaz Glow. The birds are from a photo I took many years ago and used as a texture.

Reminded me of a lions mane!! But I thought Lions Heart was a better title. I know kind of weird. Just getting into some of my older shots that even after sometime has passed I think they deserve to be shared. Tons of newer images but I need to purchase more RAM because my computer is getting bogged down, freezing up on me constantly. UGH!! I'm a picture hoarder!!
Reminds me of my childhood summers when I spent the holidays with my grandparents. On the outskirts of the village there were cornfields, surrounded by cherry trees and underneath grew flowers like the ones in the picture above: poppies, cornflowers, but also camomile, from which I braided flower wreaths that I put over my long hair.

This image reminds me of the 1956 Cecil B. DeMille classic, "The Ten Commandments."
The Guardian is one of the most iconic trees in the world, let alone in the Schulman Grove of Ancient Bristlecone Pines in the White Mountains of California, because it is visually stunning and relatively easily accessible from the parking area. Beyond its accessibility, the relative solitude on the ridge with open skies and the extreme atmospherics that result from the unique geography of the region.

This shot reminded me of the native Cree canoe paddle Motif.
The legend is that the panther is on the hunt for his pray (the rabbit). The rabbit is smoking his pipe and is not concerned because he is smarter than the panther. This legend reminds us to be smart and not make mistakes when in the wild. The image of the panther is on one side of paddle, and the image of the rabbit is on the other.
A similar paddle was featured in the 1997 movie The Edge with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin where an intellectual billionaire and two other men struggle to band together and survive after getting stranded in the Alaskan wilderness with a Kodiak Bear hunting them down, filmed near Golden BC.

Many viewers have commented that The Guardian Building (originally The Union Trust Company Building) reminded them of a church.
This picture shows approximately half of the bank lobby on the main floor. Imagine the original bank building with 60-90 bank teller cages lining the entire length of both sides of this "nave". The ceiling was composed of a 3/4 inch (1.9cm) of horsehair and coated with a layer of plaster cement. Then, a canvas layer was applied, and painted with designs reminiscent of the patterns of Navajo rugs. This was a sound-deadening system.
The "altar piece" ( I suppose) was the three-story mural of the map of the lower peninsula of Michigan. Highlighted were the major Michigan moneymakers of the1890s to 1920s: mining, manufacturing, lumber, fishing, commerce, and agriculture. It was completed in 1929, unfortunately the year of the beginning of "The Great Depression".
This superbly decorated Art-Deco bank building was nicknamed "The Cathedral of Finance." So, if the earlier pictures reminded you of a church (reprised in the first comment below) --you were very observant : -)
