As Autumn rolls in Greetings to all my Flickr friends and a little reminder of the months just past.
I need a reminder today that it's supposed to be Flaming June!! Instead we have had days of cold, wet and windy weather. In contrast, this image was taken on a warm summer's evening :)

As I look out of my window to a bleak cold and freezing day, I thought a reminder of summer in France and that delightful Air B&B was in order. Not only that I'm snowed in and cannot leave the house.
The little church at the outskirts of Davlos, a silent reminder of the Greek heritage of this land.

A reminder that the clouds we see are always in the process of being created, at that moment. Glad to be flying again. Looking forward to next time!

In which now showing that autumn, seems to be around this lovely Walsall Arboretum. Which is a Victorian public park located very close to Walsall town centre in the West Midlands!

I found this seagull perched on a post leading out to the rougher waters of the area surrounding Venice. There were boats by each home or building there because after all it is only one of two ways to navigate Venice. The other is by walking.

Winter is trying to show its qualities, wet heavy snow is converting everything to the heap of ice right now. Yup, I don't envy the people, that have to drive tomorrow morning. So here's a golden reminder, autumn stays a favorite season...
Nuts left over from autumn. A friend and I gathered them from trees in her street but I didn't have a nutcracker for such small nuts and they never got eaten. I thought they were quite pretty though, especially in this shell. I had been looking for a bowl or something for the picture and used the shell instead. Does anyone know what nuts they are?

Bones of a Bowhead Whale dating back to an English whaling station of the 18th Century. The Bowhead population around Svalbard collapsed during the 1700s and has never recovered. The bones are now home to arctic vegetation, still providing mosses and flowers with nutrients hundreds of years after those tragic events.

In a way, these roses speak to me. They are talking about life, beauty, transitoriness, and about our duty not to waste this life we have got. What the prophet says I am not so sure. He has been for years outside in the garden, and nobody listens, it seems. His presence is a reminder nevertheless. Of what?

During my travels on hundreds of miles of country roads, I have witnessed countless former farm sites that now only sport one reminder of lives once lived on this particular location. Sometimes it is a barn, a silo or some other smaller outbuilding like this one. As my mother and father aged, they often mourned the passing of former classmates until one day they too were gone.
I imagine there's nothing like a cemetery in your backyard to encourage you to live every day to its fullest :) seen on Alberta Street in Sapperton B.C.
Tall ships once graced the docks along this part of the river. Now we only have this ghostly reminder.

The Old Man of Storr, on the Isle of Skye, Scotland, is so abundantly photographed that it may seem impossible to find new angles or views to capture. A short hike from my camp site provided this beautiful early evening shot.
The ancient hill fort wall of Dun Gerashader echoing the distant prominent spike of The Old Man himself. I'm no landscape photographer, otherwise I would have been better prepared for this shot, but my 200mm telephoto and monopod was sufficient for a single shot image.
Cropped and re-edited with some light colour grading and a reminder to myself of a wonderful but brief holiday on The Isle of Skye just last year. Enjoy!
