A view looking south on N. Walnut in downtown Champaign. Ahead on the southwest corner of N. Walnut and E. Main St. is the First National Bank Building, a contributing building in the Champaign Downtown Historic District listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020.
The First National Bank, located at 30 E Main Street, is based on a Greek Revival form and features beautiful Corinthian columns and pilasters. Chicago architects, Mundie and Jensen, constructed the building in 1909. The stone-faced historic bank was one of the first steel-constructed buildings in Champaign.
The exterior of the original building has excellent architectural integrity. Interior changes occurred during the middle of the twentieth century in an attempt to modernize. There is an addition to the west and to the south. Both were constructed in 1966, and are non-contributing to the historic district. The First National Bank Building is now the location of a PNC Bank branch office.
Located in Champaign County in east central Illinois, the twin cities of Champaign and Urbana are the home of the University of Illinois. The population of the City of Champaign at the 2020 census was 88,302, while Champaign County had a population of 205,865.

The Church was built in 1799 on the former Caminho dos Pinheiros, today Rua da Consolação, with the help of alms from devotees to Our Lady of Consolation and with the endorsement of the diocesan bishop Mateus de Abreu Pereira were able to begin its construction, with the technique of taipa, quite common at the time. The oldest record of its construction is a document transcribed by Jacinto Ribeiro, in which it attributes the idealization of the temple to the faithful Luiz da Silva and his brothers. Located in a boggy and marshy region there is another document proving the Church's ancient existence: on November 23, 1803, an office was registered that showed the need for drinking water for the residents of the neighborhood "Nossa Senhora da Consolação". In view of the custom of baptizing the district with religious names, mainly related to sanctuaries, the Church, besides already existing, corresponded to an important piece for the functioning of the region. And, in the year 1810, a plant in the city of São Paulo contained the chapel.
Finished in 1887,Saint Boniface Catholic Church in New Vienna, IA. is one of the finest cathedrals in Iowa. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places....

In 1737, the gerbera plant was discovered by a botanist. This botanist worked together with a German doctor: Traugott Gerber. This is also where the gerbera gets its name from.
